Monthly tournament on last Saturday. Five players only (due to vacation): Erik (Ork horde), Heiko (Ork horde), Veit (Ork Kanz army), Markus (DE WWP), and me (mech Eldar).

My mech Eldar list:
Farseer (fortune)
10 Warlocks (embolden, enhance) in Serpent (shuricannon, stones)
2x 5 Fire Dragons
2x 10 Dire Avengers in Serpent (scatterlaser, stones)
10 Storm Guardians + 1 Warlock (destructor) in Serpent (shuricannon, stones)
2x Falcon (shuricannon x2, stones, holofield)

First game vs Veit's Ork Kanz army (Veit is a medicine and a passionate Ork player):
2 Big Meks
2 Deff Dreads
2x 3 Killa Kanz
2x 30 Boyz
5 Trukk Nobz in mega armor
10 Trukk Boyz
2x 8 Lootas
3 Lobba (S5 AP5)
1 Wartrukk (heavy flamer).

Deployment along the long edges, 12'' away from the center line, 3 mission objectives (one in the center, and one in each deployment zone).
He deployed first and so I deployed only the Council in Serpent safely behind terrain.

First round: His horde stepped forward. The Council's Serpent moved a bit back so that they were still out of range of the d*** Lootas.

Second round: His horde stepped forward again, the Dreads and Kanz held the center. One Trukk with Boyz came close to the Council's Serpent, the Boyz disembarked, and with a Waagghh the Boyz moved 3 additional inches, able to charge the Serpent. My goodness!
The Boyz (hitting on 4+) immobilized the Serpent and the Nob with his power claw hitting last downed the Serpent. Ouch! However, the fortuned Council safely disembarked.
In my turn, Falcon and two DA squads showed up, all at the right flank where the Serpent was downed. The Council rallied charging the Trukk Boyz killing them outright and advancing towards the center. At the same time, the Fire Dragons disembarked from the Falcon and took down two of three KillaKans (from a squadron). Moreover, the Deff Dreads lost their big shootas and the Nobz their Trukk.

Third round: The horde holding the center took the Council under heavy fire. After the dust cleared, seven Warlocks were dead. One moment of mourning and taking a deep breath. Finally, the Fire Dragons got decimated to one man, but the last Warrior held the ground.
In my turn, the remaining tanks, Serpent with Storm Guardians and Falcon with Fire Dragons, showed up, all on the right flank to avoid heavy fire from at least one Loota mob. The Council charged one large Ork mob winning cc but losing all three Warlocks. Man, now I start hating the green skins. At the same time, the skimmers advanced towards the center to take on the steamy Ork machines. Shooting went rather bad, both Dreads lost their second weapons. Meh.

Forth round: Close combat went on, the fortuned Farseer held the ground: 28 attacks from the Boyz and 3 attacks from Nob with power claw. So many green-skin suckers. Hah. The Ork shooting was incredible downing one Falcon and the Serpent of the Storm Guardians. Five Guardians and the Warlock escaped from the burning wreck.
In my turn, the Trukk in my end zone became annoying able to contest the objective in my zone. So the Fire Dragons were ordered to disembark from the Falcon and to shoot it to pieces. Veit laughed but admitted that now the situation for him started to become grim. Gotcha! The Dreads were now immoblized, one Kanz squadron was downed, and the single Warktrukk (able to burn the Storm Guardians next turn) exploded.

Fifth round: The Farseer heroically fought with Da Boyz; he finally fell at the end of this round leaving halve of the mob left and dry. The Lootas immoblized a DA Serpent. The passengers disembarked and blasted away the annoying Lobbas, while the second DA Serpent contested the objective in the centre.

The game ended here. It was a draw, since each army held one objective.

Summary: The game started really bad when the Council's Serpent was downed. But the army rallied and came back.

Second game vs. Dark Eldar (Markus enjoys playing DE, its his main army):
Archon
3x 8 Wyches incl Sybarite (agonizer) in Raiders
3x 10 Warriors with 2 darklances (one with Sybarite carrying a WWP)
10 Warriors in Raider (incl Sybarite with WWP)
3 Ravagers.

Dawn of War scenario (kill points), deployment was along the long board edges. I rolled higher and gave him first turn.

First turn: Two Warriors squads on the board, with the third emerging in the movement phase. The Eldar army did not yet arrive at the battlefield. A Sybarite opened the WWP. Why?

Second turn: One Ravager and two Wych squads showed up at his right flank through the WWP. The Wych Raiders were obscured with the Ravager in front.
In my turn, Falcon, DA squad, and Guardian squad showed up. The Ravager was rather close and so the Fire Dragons disembarked and downed it before it was able to inflict serious damage. The two troop Serpents moved at full speed along the other flank.

Third turn: His remaining forces showed up taking down the Falcon, but unable to kill all Dragons; three survived running into a near forest.
In my turn, 2nd DA squad and 2nd Falcon loaded with Fire Dragons showed up. The DA Serpent followed the other two along the flank opposite to the WWP. The Guardians were brought close to one Warrior squad, the Guardians disembarked and burned the Warriors (2 flamers & 1 heavy flamer, ouch!). The Falcon moved towards the WWP on the other flank (where the 1st Falcon was destroyed), immobilized the vehicle of the Raider squad, while its passengers (FDs) blasted away another Ravager.

Forth turn: The Archon and his Wych 'retinue' charged the Fire Dragons (downing the Ravager in the last turn) killing them. At the other flank, the Guardians embarked and the troop Serpents advanced towards the center, decimating one Warrior squad and immobilizing a Wych Raider.

Fifth turn: The Council finally showed up automatically, thanks to the rule change (prevented me from rolling another 1, lol). Their Serpent moved towards the center where the Raider squad was hiding in cover. The troop Serpents resumed to advance towards the center taking again the Warrior squad under fire and downing another Wych Raider.

The situation began to become grim for Dark Eldar. But the game ended here.

Summary: Easy win. The Council was absolutely superfluous. An Autarch should be mandatory in a game where units are to be held in reserve. Bingo!

Funny enough, the Ork players battled each other. Each with a win and a loss; but all battles were rather tight.

Final standing: 1. mech Eldar, 2. Ork horde (Heiko), 3. Ork horde (Eric), 4. Ork Kanz army (Veit), 5. DE (Markus). Cheers!

Congrats on the win!

So many Orks. Last tourney, we had 0.

I know very little about eldar, but the Ork list Veit brought is similar to one my friend runs. It's a good list.

Is this eldar list your custom craftworld?

Thanks, Arkion.

Well, Orks seems to be everybody's favorite army these days. I dislike their look and I hate painting that many models. I prefer small elite armies. Crushing 150 Orks with 50 Eldar is very rewarding.

Yes, the Craftworld is self customized after GW got rid of all the pure Craftworld armies.

great reports wuestenfux!
I really enjoyed the last one where your council spent the game flirting with each other off-board. yet you still pounded him.

Excellent read.

Are you tempted to tweak your list and fit a cheap exarch in for the +1 reserve rolls? I've been thinking of including one in my GT list to make starting off the table a more viable tactic but at 1500 points I can't justify it.

Also, how do you think you would have fared against the true horde list?

Generally, yes, but the list left no room for an Autarch.

Quite similar. The Council is nasty against Orks, killing about 20 of them on the charge.
And I can wipe out another big mob by the Storm Guardians and combined shooting with DAs.
In this way, I can rid of two mobs in one turn.

The Council simply was not required against DE. It came at turn 5 and I left them in the Serpent.
