Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Anyone ever try this? Land Raider deployed in cover. Techmarine and Retinue in front of it. Servo Harness, Tech Servitor, Gun Servitors maybe a Combat Servitor. Gun Servitors get shot they go inside and drive forward. Land Raider gets damaged they repair it.

I suppose it would need a Dozer Blade.

Nice way to use both a Land Raider and a Techmarine.

This makes me wish I had a copy of the 5th ed rule book. If the tech marine "counts as" on the table when embarked then he can fix it from inside. TOO COOL. Does this work?

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

all that I really know about techmarines is that they are the ultimate in CC. So the combat servitor is pretty useless imho. As far as the ultimate cheapness strategy goes. I read the rules and found nothing that says yes or no about embarked units being able to use special abilities. Therefore i would say that you can't do that. Also, I would give the techmarine a small tac squad to tag along in a razorback, using the LR as cover, and providing some fire support. It could work great

Razorback with tw Lascannon. tac squad with flamer, heavy bolter, and power weapon holding off infantry advances. Then, you get two heavy bolter gunservitors to kill more infantry. Make the LR a regular one so it can kill tanks, and some infantry. The techmarine can then have two tech servitors to give you a 75% chance of repairing either the landraider or razor. Give him a MC pari of lightning claws, let his guards do their thing while he does repairs, and you're set! sure this formation costs upward of 500 points but they will draw lots of fire with self generated, mobile cover, that repairs itself. Also, here's what the squad can shoot

1 set of 1 twin linked lascannon
1 set of 2 twin linked lascannons w/ one set of twin linked heavy bolters

1 set of 2 heavy bolters with a twin linked plasma pistol, and a flamer

1 set of 1 heavy bolter 1 flamer 1 storm bolter and 3 bolters

that's not a whole lot of hurt for the points. But it's mobile enough to get where it needs to be, and durable enough to stand up to lots of stuff... unless its a tau brodside suit... then everyone dies... horribly...

Also, it would befunny to watch your opponents face as all those AT weapon shots he sunk into your LR or razor back get repaired again, and again.

You're spending 400 pts for 2 TL lascannons pretty much. Doesn't seem worth it.

I'd rather have 2 8 man dev squads w/ 4 ML each.

Yeah so would I, but i think that this variant of killing stuff and drawing fire is way more fun

Text reads "if the techmarine is in base contact with the vehicle during the shooting phase...."

So I assume that you can't repair from the inside, but it's easy enough to unload and repair it in the shooting phase.

My techmarine is geared for total close combat, we're talking lightning claws and terminator honors to go with his servo-harness. he leads a veteran squad that tails behind a landraider that i use as mobile cover since 5th edition started. it's worked really well so far as they concentrate so hard on the tank that the vets and techmarine get there unscathed and then brutalize the bad men (chaos or tau generally)
