Carapace armor + Close order drill + iron discipline on drop troops is alot of extra stuff that won't do a thing.
You have an awful lot of gear, and a very small amount of men.
2500 points you can field a hell of a lot more guardsmen, and alot more tanks.
I'd scrap this list and try again with just the suggestions I mentioned and see if you can get a better list put together.

Ok Close Order Drill is a Must take always if you played IG you would now same for ID. It's like Speical Weapons in the IG codex there horriable right ? Carapace is just there for help to keep them alive sense DS into cover is now bad for me. K alot more Tanks why in a Drop IG army ? The only Reason I take them is to shot stuff 1st turn and be bait. Also If the Misson doesnt DS then I have 2 support Tanks. Your reasoning is flawed COD and ID are two of the best buys in the Codex. I see why you would think tons of men and tanks would work but this is DS IG. If to many men the LZ will get clogged up if two little i'll get over whelmed. May drop a tank or both and take 1 more paltoon.

What ghostmaker means is that when you deep strike you must be in btb contact per the deep trike rules, so there is no reason not to take close order drill, because you will already be in that formation.
I won my 'Ardboy qualifiers last time with a drop IG list, and I think your list looks great ghostmaker. My only suggestion is to trade out two of the meltaguns for plasma guns in all of the command squad, as the double shots are often better against side and rear armor then meltas are, and it gives you more shots to take out marines and big bugs.

I would probably trade out CoD for Die Hards. The combination of Die Hards and Iron Disipline is very good. I would also probably do away with caparace armor. It is very expensive when you take it for your whole army that simply taking it out you could field probably another 2 or 3 squads if not more. Also, squads with no other weapon other than lasguns I am not a fan of. Even grenade launchers would be better, especially with the way blast weapons work in 5th.

Yea I understand about the carapace. It is a point sink dont get me wrong. But I dont have enough models Ready to my standard for Ard boyz(yes i now there is no standard but I like painted models). Every squad has a Plasma gun - bebe-paquito So what there IG they Jump and Die and Carapace I get a save. - Bryantsbears Die Hards you dont want at all if your IG you want to be Leaving combat most of the time any ways. Yea I kinda would like to do that but I have so much Plasma and Melta's are great at what they do. Thanks Doctor Thunder it makes sense but I may stick with it. But sure as sure i'll try it out. No Grenade lancuhers wouldnt be lol Flamers And Stelek I didnt see your comment cause, am I right that your wrong ? lol

COD can in turn be used on the charge if the charge is correctly place. Yes COD can work against you but it can also work for you.
Captian would be my pick unless your going to try and run an assassin in your list. If you do run the lord I would look at getting mystics to help with anything that might be DS around your tanks. I would also look into investing in a unit thats going to assist the tanks. You could in turn create a little fire base section with the Inq lord, tanks, sents, and some troops to support the area?

But Die Hards doesn't do anything in the current edition. The rule it affects no longer exists. It's spending five points for absolutely no benefit.
CoD is free and if Carapace ever makes sense it is in a Drop Troops army.

Well stelek your wrong. and you havent said anything. Carapace is good cause I can't DS into cover which is a bummer. With out risking lives. aka Plasma guy but i'll try it out. The Tanks are there for shooting and also if i cant deep strike they will be support. Captain is just for Anti Pysker's

Counter charge is nice yes, but losing a squad to a template weapons is a downside (especially if it's flame thrower). You fire an assault weapon and then lumber into the assault. Another nasty manuever, CSM/ SM wise, is to fire said flamethrowers out the top hatch of the Rhino or Razorback (whichever of the two allows for it), and then drive on.
Furthermore, it's not truly free - you give up a great deal of flexibility to get it.
You have to take doctrines in order to get it. Once you take doctrines, you now have restricted troops. If you want to have special weapons squads, or storm troopers, or priests, or ogryns (etc. etc.), you have to buy them back - inherently a cost.
You may pay no extra points for COD, but you certainly incurr a cost of some amount.

Awhile back somebody asked me why I had drop troops as one of my docs when the bulk of my army would not use it. Its free and can still add a vital roll in my list if I want to use it. The doc does not require him to use it but it does allow him to when he wants to. Now if he is going to play COD all the way then yes hes going to find trouble and or its going to find him quick. The great thing about cod is on the charge and how it effects COD. Personally if I could then I would have COD as well but im stuck on the docks I already am required to use.
If you have extra modules bring them and dont worry about painted army stuff. The first round is about kicking the snot out of the other guy with a wisywig army. The next two round would be when it matters and should give you time to paint up a few more guys.

Only if they hit. You are forgetting that guard are normally BS 3. Statistically, a plasma gun fired twice at Side Armor 11 will damage the tank 50% of the time, while the meltagun with it's single shot will only damage it 33% of the time.
You would also loose the ability to take on armour 14.
That's why I said take 2 meltaguns and 2 plasma guns in each command squad.
