What is the simplest yet safest way to make a flying stand (maybe 18"- 30" off the table) for Forgeworld models like a Lightning and Thunderbolt? I want a clear pole for each and want it to be something easy to transport. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea how to make these but I see them in may large battle reports. Help? Thanks!

Most of te ones I've seen involve wooden bases/plinths with a perspex (or plexiglass) rod for the upright and a base around 1' across (30cm). Anything smaller and it WILL be top-heavy and want to do nought else but nosedive the table.

For the heights you want, I'd go with a 25mm/1" thick rods (for the support).

There are ways to make these poles modular and sectional (using a tube and matching rod for each section) as well, for ease of packing.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
