I'm new to Warhammer ( yes, I know choosing Tomb Kings as my first army is highly idiotic, but I love undead and one of my close friends is already playing vampire counts) and I wanted to get some critique on the army list I drew up for my first few games. I haven't actually played a game yet and all of my army choices are based on theory-crafting rather than experience, so I wouldn't be surprised if I've made some stupid mistakes. I'd love it if someone could point those out before I discover them for myself the hard way.
Note: I'm thinking of putting my Tomb Prince with the 30 Skeletons, the Mounted Liche Priest with my Horsemen, and the unmounted Liche Priest with my archers. This is just conjecture and I'll eagerly change it if it's a bad idea. I'm also thinking that moving some skeletons out of the spearmen unit and into the bowmen unit might be a good idea, but I'm unsure.
008 - Skeletal Steed For Liche Priest (Not sure which one)
151 - Tomb Prince
- Flail of Skulls
- Light Armor
- Shield
160 - Lich Priest
- Staff of Ravening
165 - Lich Priest
- Dispel Scroll
- Hieratic Jar
325 - Skeleton Warriors x30
- Spears & Shields
- Light Armor
- Full Command
144 - Skeleton Warrios x18
000 - (Will be used primarily as archers)
105 - Skellie Light Horsemen x5
- Full Command
220 - Chariots x3
- Full Command
- Banner of Undying Legion
072 - Carrion x3
090 - Tomb Swarms x2
085 - Tomb Scorpion x1
Total: 1500

the 30 warriors wont be much use due to thier ability to screw up to hit rolls.
best off taking plenty of archers, most accurate bowmen there are in WHFB.
the tomb swarms arent much use, just get killed quickly, but it might be worth taking a unit of tomb guard, killing blow mixed with thier increaced stats makes them pretty good, and a nice unit for your prince.
light horsemen are pretty useless in terms of gaming, but look good.
i would add a screaming skull though, its one of the best things in the army (other than bone giants) skulls of the foe and you have something that is great at causing panic, and against some armies the catapult will not only make its points back, but could win the game for you.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor. |

Looks pretty solid to me. Just dont go for a bone giant. there not as effective as they seem and are very fiddly to put together.

and bone giants kick ass if used right, unstoppable assult and 3 ushabti backup make them pure evil, and when you got 2 liche giving them back lost wounds its alot of fun

I definitely WOULD be taking tomb guard, but I only get 3 special unit choices; I tried to use the 30 spearmen as a substitute. Is it worth getting rid of the carrion, chariots, or scorpion for some actual tomb guard?

My room-mate who got me into Warhammer (and will probably be my most frequent opponent) plays Vampire Counts, and so the fear/terror/panic aspect of the catapult is rendered null. Is it still worth having?

i know this is a late reply, sorry.
i would remove the charriots for tomb guard, the have a tendancy to get outnumbered, and afte they have charged they are basically useless.
the catapult is still worth it, even though it wont cause fear it will do pleny of damage.
or taking a bone giant could be a good idea, use him and the tomb guard together as a flank charge, his unstoppable assult rule against skellies or zombies would be great.
