Hey guys. here is a Unit some people may have overlooked for Ard Boyz. Zealots. A screaming mob of 21 with 5 evisorators (with a priest )!?

Any thoughts on whether or not a mech army should consider this foot slogger unit?

In a mech list... probably not. In a combined forces or foot slogging list definately. For foor sloggers, getting 20 girls tied up in combat sucks. Zealots fixes that problem.

For somthin like 'ard boyz I'd take 2 or 3 squads of them. For troops I was thinking about taking 40 zealtos and 80 SOBs.

Then you mechanize the hard hitters like dominons and celestians. I would also consider St Catherine and a squad of serephim.

Plus an inquisitor with a hood is probably pretty mandatory. Plus that let's you pick up a landraider.

When I saw the zealots in White Dwarf I considered a witch hunter army. The only drawback is converting a lot of models...

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Think can only have two units max...and they can't be your compulsory slots.

I wouldn't take Celestine I don't think. She still gets one shot by anything with Str6+. Since she can't take a retinue, she can be picked out in melee, and I don't think that even 2500 points supports her 201pt price tag. That's a lot of girls, or a fair number of seraphim, you are giving up for her.

Yeah, but she has hit and run, and I've never not had her at the end of the game. You can basically send her into situations to be killed off and she'll just come back later.

Great for contesting objectives.

One tactic I use is to detach her in the end game from the serephim squad, assault the most distal member of a squad. When they counter charge it pulls them away from the object them. Then the Serephim can hold the objective uncontested.

I won a game doing this the other day.

She is also a KP that keep coming back, At 2000+ she's a steal. At 1750, she's a tough choice.
