Quite cool, though wondering myself if it was just cruising around whilst legs did stuff or really stomping the streets ...

From the video it looked to me like the legs were decorative, and the body was actually supported and moved by something underneath. Show me a giant mechanical spider clearly walking on the legs, and I’ll get more excited.

I'll get excited too, but in the loading the 8 gauge and filling the spray fertilizer tanks full of insecticide while keening like a scared little girl sort of excited.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? That's ok, the guys over at DARPA are working on building a mech anyway. The prototype sort of resembles an Uller from battletech. But they got a whole lot of gear head nerds working on it so I'm certain the'll get it working eventually. The team comes to the Anime Expo every year to show off (although they haven't brought the mech yet) and try to recruit people. Guess they know who they want working for them.

It had 8 "legs", watch it again.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

They did the Sultan's Elephant (based on a Jules Verne story) in London in 2006 and it was hands down the best experience I have had in London to date. They took out all the streetlights, closed down roads and went to huge lengths for no purpose beyond entertainment, and every single person there was in a great mood. Apparently this company have a theme park in France now too which I intend to visit some day.
