Hopping on the pain wagon

I would just like to publicly call out a huge BRAVO! to the Games Workshop Community team for doing such a fantastic bang up job of organizing and running the GT this year. I cannot speak highly enough about how awesome and fun of a weekend it was! Also, I have to say, BRAVO! on 5th edition - it is a testament to the rules (and probably the quality of opponents that I was fortunate enough to play) that my rulebook stayed in my bag the entire weekend - not a single rules dispute, any TLOS issues were resolved immediately and the mission objectives were clear.

Also, I would be remiss in not calling out a BRAVO to everyone who had such awesome painted armies and seemed to be having a good time!

Great job!

word!

Great food, nice hotel, ample space, numerous available impartial judges, helpful staff, and I was lucky enough to play against 5 people I'd play against anytime!

Please check out my current project blog

Feel free to PM me to talk about your list ideas....

Ditto from my end. If the trend set in Vegas this year continues, then the US GTs will have officially passed the UK GT in quality. Great job to the GW events team.

You can bring 2 Bloodthirsters any time you want... as long as you promise to not make any of their saves - wait, they already did that in our game.

Yeah, but really, I was just outplayed - the bad rolls were just adding insult to injury ;-)

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I agreed. I big thanks to Dave and Chris for putting on a great GT.

Also the extra $25 for the food was well worth it, it was great grub. I had low expectations going into it, but it was a pleasant surprise.

I also liked that the GT was on the strip in a good hotel was great. It was nice that you just jumped in the elevator and head down to the GT.

It was a great event, well run and well staffed. Hopefully next year it can be in a smoke free hotel.

And next time we need Waitresses in the hall. jk

I'll throw my heaping praises in this thread for how great the LVGT was.

Although I like the missions and Team tournament at Adepticon, the LVGT this year was a very close second.

Not only was the actual tournament well run, including great missions and scoring but holding the tournament in a hotel on the strip just elevates it to a magical level of fun.

The tournament ends relatively early on Saturday (around 6pm) so provided you come with any friends you have several hours that night to kick back and partake in any of the festivities that Vegas has to offer.

I just can't emphasize what a fun weekend I had overall and anyone who is interested in attending a tournament should definitely start waiting by their computer for these tickets to go on sale for next year.

It's just that good!

Kudos Dave, Chris, et al! Thanks for an amazing weekend.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

I'm really sorry I missed it.

It seems like such a long time since the majority were singing praises of a GW run tournement. I can only hope that baltimore follows suit.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

I'll toss out kudos as well. Fantastic time, in spite of two Kill Point missions (altho my IG actually won the second one, Dawn of War, KP).
Course, I had to play against Malice in round one and he absolutely hammered me!!
Anyways, location, food, staff, everything, very well done. Hoping Baltimore is even half as good.

The 2 KP missions were the only missions I lost. I was wondering if any IG armies won any of their KP rounds. And I guess so.

Yep, I pulled out the last one somehow. All he had left at the end was a weaponless, immobilized rhino, one marine in hth (who made 8 straight saves in the hth......), 2 marines in hth, and an untouched dev squad. I lost 6 KP out of 21 while he lost 7 of 11. First KP I also only lost 6 KP, but only scored 3 KP. Course, he did have three units of one or two models in hiding for the last several turns..............

My army had 23 KP in it - and I won both KP missions 20-3.
