Looks like a fun army to play, but worth 29 KPs at the 'ard Boyz (30 is the maximum possible for a normal FOC).

Not only does the army give up a lot of KP's, but a lot of them are easy to get.

Pathfinders - 5 x T3 wounds
Vypers - armor 10 and open topped

I see 20 if you count viper squadrons as giving up a kill point per vehicle (do they give up a kill point per vehicle?)

all the same, I'd toss the vipers for something else, maybe a large unit of warp spiders or something that only gives up 1kp, maybe a large unit of warlocks to accompany yriel

In the 'ard Boyz tournament:

Avatar = 3KP
Yriel = 3KP
Scorpions, banshees, dragons @2 KP ea = 6KP
Avengers, guardians, pathfinders @ 1KP ea = 5KP
3 units of vypers @ 2KP per unit = 6KP
Wraithords & falcon @ 2KP ea = 6KP

Total = 29 KP

This, along with the fact that I don't have all the wave serpents I want, is why I decided not to do Eldar at 'ard Boys. My Eldrad council would be worth 6KPs by itself. I'd need to kill 6 giant gaunt hordes or 30-strong mobs of boyz just to break even on the loss of that one unit.

I don't think Eldar have the kind of troop units available that would make them viable contenders in the 'ard Boyz. Because they depend so much on elites and heavies, and because the troops are all so weedy, games that would usually be hit&run Eldar victories will turn into losses on KPs.

The one exception would be wraithguard-spamming Iyanden troop units. If you had the models, you could get four of them in a 2500 point army. That would be the Eldar army to beat.

Where did you find anything on modified kill points? Far as I knew, the tournament was just 2500pts nothing extra or special to worry about?! What other things should I be aware of?

This is a fun army, not a ard army.

Single of anything (you have lots of units that only exist once) at these points levels means they probably won't do much.

Scenarios have been up since about Monday.

Like I said at the very first, it does look like a fun army to play.

Actually, other than having a lot of KP, it looks like a very viable army that could put up stiff competition.

You can still modify this list to be more competitive pretty easily. The most obvious choice would be to pull the Vypers out in favor of some Troops units, and perhaps maximizing the Troops you do have: Warlocks with Embolden on the Guardians to make them stick more, and upping the size of the Pathfinder units to 6 or 8 models. Pulling the Vypers eliminates your most obvious weakness, and without them the list is quite playable. You don't have to be completely min-maxed to win at 'Ard Boyz if you know the units that you do use well.

Even without changing models at all, you could consolidate the Vypers into one unit. Sure, it's less targets and less ability to zoom about contesting: but it's also 4 less KP, and given their fragility it's pretty inevitable that they will die one way or the other.

Read the scenarios (everyone else will have done so) and good luck!
