According to the Ork codex, 'the bigbomm scatters d6"...I assume I still subtract my BS skill (2) from the roll?

I think it's like the swooping hawk grenade pack. Do what's in the codex exactly, as the weapon is not a "normal" blast weapon. Otherwise it would be 2d6" minus BS.

iirc, and I'm at work, if you roll a hit, it scatters d6-1", so follow the codex.
