ok, after ages of thinking on a new army i decided ork, but, as every army i have collected i buy a single model 1st and see what it is like to paint, i wont collect an army if i hate painting them.

Decided to try the new warboss from AoBR, C&C needed please.

As for the random urban camo, i decided to try something ive never done before, so i hope that turned out alright.

Looks nice, I think the face-plate belt buckle thing needs an ink wash or something to give more depth. It's the center of the model and is fairly prominent so you want it standout a little. The skin depth you have is nice and you've got a good mix of colors between the red, yellow and the grey camo pants.

i was thinking its a bit plain, might try a watered down scab red wash, might bring it out more.

My personal opinion is that it looks pretty good, but that too much is happening at once with too many colours being used. Take a few colours out of the scheme and it might look a bit better. Make the blue cable darker and a different colour so it doesnt stand out (perhaps just black even), make the loin cloth darker to roughly match the leather on the back, and tone down the yellow/orange hair a bit too (perhaps make it red to match the rest of the model).

That should cut down on the distractions anyway. It has a very 2nd edition blood-axe commando feel to it at the moment which I like.

1st attempt at a proper ork, only ever painte small bits, no real ammount of skin.
and i just like the look of urban camo, so i figured i'd give it a go.

need to darken the cable, storm blue should work well.
a few washes / red highlights will sort out the hair.
the tabard i can just layer darker, so thats no real problem.

that was mainly a test piece, but all in all i have 3 days to paint a 2k point ork army, and build it of course -_-

shouldnt leave these things to the last minute.

Well.....good luck with the army, the scheme looks pretty tight, but I agree with lego about the hair.

Nice going on the camo....it is easy to do, yet hard to do well.

ok, hair is now red gore, highlighted with blood red and megenta and red ink washes
ill put some morepics up tomorrow now the hair has been changed.

Quick ways to improve it.

You've heavily inked/washed the model.
For the skin go back and add a highlight, its too uniform ATM due to the thickness of the wash, needs some shazaam.
The bindings on the pistol grips- rehighlight them again. I assume the wash was to add shading to the recessed between the bindings.
Pants are fine
Red metal is fine.
Maybe a thin highlight/edge of chainmail on the plain metal to 'catch the light'.

Nice job, especially on the face.

I like the urban camo scheme - presuming you're going for a DeffSkull or Blood Axe theme

Camo looks great!

i know gonads, just needs some last minute things done.
skin has no ink atall.
just dark angles green, then additional highlights of DA green / scorpion green.

hair is changed, just need to sort out the grips.
cant do the metal yet, just checked and my mithril silver is dry as a bone, havent used it in ages.

not doing a basic ork army, just like urban camo

re-done the hair red, cleaned up the bandages / cloth.
all the red metal has been damaged up a bit (my techical terms ) and the camo has been cleaned up aswell, the lense on the bionic eye has had a little work too.
