I have an existing Drop Pod army im considering changeing over to Salimanders. Ive aalways loved there look and fluff.
In this army i would have He'stan join the Sternguard squad.
Depending on the scenario and my opponent i would break my troop squads into combat squads with the heavy weapons trying to hold objectives. I took some advice ive seen and geared my sternguards up with combi weapons instead of the heavy flamers. I went both flamer and melta so they could have a dual purpose. The pwr weapon on the sgt is there for some xtra help if in CC.
I feel 4-8 scoring units would be more then enough for 5th edition.
Iron clad is my CC monster. Im not sure how hes going to work using the pod. Ill have to figure on how he best works on placement. hes going to need to hide for 1 turn when he lands. if near s7 + weapons.
all suggestions are welcome. Please tear this apart
