I want to make 1k sons for my second army, I currently play orcs, and i want another fun army. I have looked at 1k sons, they look cool, but I am not looking foward to painting metal only bits :( but back to the main aspect of this post, Could someone help me by giving me a good 1850 or so list for a torunement worthy army? I saw your post and registered here just to respond. I am also a former Ork player and started playing Thousand Sons as well. Now I haven't played since 3rd edition, but to me 3rd and 5th are extremely similar. Anyway, this is what I was planning on doing.

Lots of decent size troops to take objectives and be hard to remove, which is needed for Tournament armys. Comments are welcome. The idea I had was to use the Defilers both as vehicle removal and strength 10 power weapon to support melee.

HQ is one of the following - Plan to make the model work for either:
Daemon Prince + MK of Tzeentch + Warptime +Doombolt = 165
Chaos Lord + MK of Tzeentch + Daemon Weapon + Terminator Armor + Icon = 165

9 man Thousand Sons + Doombolt + Personal Icon + Rhino + Havok = 329
9 man Thousand Sons + Doombolt + Personal Icon + Rhino + Havok = 329

First of all, Narse, welcome to DakkaDakka.
The list is quite interesting. Nevertheless, Lesser Daemons suck, Chaos Lord can be instantly killed, and Defilers are fluffy (instead of Obliterators) but not really effective.

thank you all, I am gonna do the last list, that looks the easiest to me to understand. since i don't have a codex just yet, i do know a little bit, and that looks the best to me. LOL I am still quite new to the game atm. I have only been playing since a month before 5th. So yeah. Again, thanks for all your posts this has helped me A LOT!
