Congratulations to everyone who placed. I ended up taking 1st with Chaos.

1st- Chaos-58 BPs
2nd- Ravenwing – 53 BPs
3rd- Tyranids – 48 BPs

4th- Crimson Fists (Drop Pods) – 39 BPs
5th- Dark Angels – 39 BPs

Going into the final round, Dark Angels were sitting in 2nd, 5th, and 6th. There were a lot of Marines (3 Dark Angels, 1 Blood Angels, 2 Ultramarines, 1 Crimson Fists). There were also 2 Chaos, 1 Ork, 1 Tank Company, 2 Tyranids, and 1 Necrons).

I took:

3 Termis w/ 2 combi-meltas, chainfist, 1 LC, 2 LC’s w/ Land Raider w/ Possession

8 Plague marines w/ Champ, Powerfist, 2 Plasma Rhino w/ Possesion
8 Plague marines w/ Champ, Powerfist, 2 Melta, Rhino w/ Possession
10 Raptors w/ Champ, Powerfist, Meltabombs
2x Defilers w/ 2 CCWs
Vindicator w/ possession

First round I played the Crimson Fists drop pod army.

He took:(everything in pods)

6 Marine Squads (2xDouble Flamer, 3xDouble Melta, 1xDouble Plasma)

I won first turn but gave it to him. His first drop brought in the Dreads and a melta squad. He killed 1 marine before I wiped out his melta squad with raptors and one dread blew up by two lascannons. He was able to get everything else next turn by the Deathwatch. He effectively surrounded my army, but all he was able to do was kill the raptors. A doom siren ate his command squad, and lash+ordnance= lots of dead marines. At the end of the game I had lost a Defiler, Noise Marine Squad and the Raptors while holding 3 objectives. He had all 10 Drop Pods left. 22-0 Massacre for me.

Second Round was against Nids.

He took:
Winged Tyrant
Broodlord w/ stealers
2x20 Gaunts
6 Warriors
4 Warriors
5 Ravenors
3 Lictors
3 Gun Fexes

The board was pretty open. I seized the initiative. Shooting did alright. I killed 1 fex and the Hive Tyrant. My Ordnance didn’t do a whole lot. I failed eight psychic tests and passed only two. I assaulted him two. It was a good choice because I was able to beat the Stealers, Gaunts, Ravenors, Lictors, and both Warrior squads down to about nothing. At the end of the game I had 2 Defilers, Land Raider, Noise marines, Plague Marines and a rhino left. He had a 1 wound Fex and a 2 wound fex, 1 wound warrior from the 6 man squad, 2 warriors from the other squad, and 1 guant. Kill points ended up being a 14-13 in his favor, resulting in a tie. 12-12 draw.

Third Round was against Ultramarines. I knew I need a massacre to win the tourney.

He took:

10 Scouts w/ 5 Snipers, 3 bolters, 2 shot guns (they flanked to assault noise marines!?)

This game went very well for me. I was able to go first, run forward and lash him out of cover. I killed a tactical squad on turn one with both deathguard units. His whole force came in. He brought 2 dreads, 10 assault marines, Techmarine and servitors, and the Vindi to deal with my 2 squads of Plague Marines and Prince. On the top of turn three, with the help of a well placed lascannon and a lash/battle cannon, he had 2 assault marines left, an immobile venerable dread, techmarine and another dread in combat that were alive on the right flank. On turn four, the Dreads were dead, assault marines dead, techmarine dead. On the left flank, a defiler and the vindi ate anything that came close. His whirlwinds were quite effective, but I was able to silence them turn 4 and keep 2 noise marines from each squad alive. It took two extra turns to kill his last speeder, which gave me the Massacre. 24-1. His stupid speeder survived 8 lascannon shots. I was able to take it down in hand to hand. Very thankful.

I ended up with 58 Battle Points. I got me a Necron Battleforce. I have missed them since I sold them six years ago. Gotta start over again.
