Human Auxiliary to the Empire





Hey every body. Was at the battle bunker for the ard boys with my jetseer mech eldar and i thought i would post up my battle reports.
First off here is the list i was using:
Jetseer w/ ROW, Doom, Fortune, stones
Jetlocks(6) emboldenx2 enhance
Jetarch w/ spear
(This was a 600 point uber unit)
3 prisms
2 dire avengers in wave serpents
banshees in serpent
scorpions in serpent
3 jetbikes with jetlock embolden

thats 8 tanks, an uber squad and a hide to claim objective squad.

First game was against marines. List looked like this:

Master with command squad in Rhino
5 terminators w. assault cannon
5 veterans w. power fist lightning claws and power weapon
4x 10 tac marines, powerfist 2 squads with missle launchers 2 with plasma cannon
8 assault marines w. powerfist 2x plasma melta bombs in rhino
vindicator
8 devs 4 heavy bolters
8 devs 2 plasma cannons, 2 heavy bolters

His list was basically set up to kill orcs and a lot of them. 2 missle launchers was his only long range fire power to try and down my tanks.
I won the roll of to go first and i gave him first turn. The board was set up with 3 objectives on my half of the board and 2 on his. So all i had to do was sit back and wait for the game to end before i rushed forward on the last turn to contest his objectives and claim mine. I would of claimed a major victory, but on one of his last turns he manage to shoot the heavy bolter devs at my jetbike troops and wiped them out to the man thanks to my horrible saving throws. Another high light of the game was when he tryed to vindicator blast the jetseer council and then charge with his master and command squad. Of course it scatered right on top of his command squad wittling them down to a power fist and the master. In the end his relentless firepower was starting to hurt, but the only tanks i lost where from me ramming his vehicles, so when my vehicle blew up the fire dragons jumped out passed there leadership test and then melted his terminators.
Because i could only claim 2 objectives and he managed to surround one with rhinos so i couldn't fly up to contest it. I only managed a minor win, with one bonus point.

4x 8 Zerkers champ w/ Power Weapon 2x plasma pistol
2x 5 Khorne Terminators w/ Reaper
6 raptors 2 flamers power fist
2 predators with sponson heavy bolter
3 oblitorators

Not a bad list now that i look back on it, but my opponent hadnt played fifth at all really. That coupled with the fact that they where all foot sloggers made this one a complete massacre. The game was basically him walking towards me, and me shooting the crap out of him until i charged with everything i had to try and down the beast that is kharn. This was the only highlight of the game. This was the only game that i actually lost my jetseer council. It took Kharn, the deamon prince, the greater deamon, and like 15 zerkers over 3 turns to wittle my numbers down and finally make me run. It kinda sucked because there was only one warlock left with both my characters and they couldnt regroup unless he shot the warlock to death, which he didnt, and they ran off the board.(by then my embolden guys had died)
The rest of the game was my fire prisms and fire dragons wrecking his termies and oblits, before my jetbike squad with a warlock swooped behind his lines and killing his tanks.

Over all it was a gimmie game. foot sloggers vs mech is an auto win in a kp scenerio. I can run around and shoot your hard stuff to death and countercharge with 3 close combat units on whatevers left. I tabled him and only missed out on one extra point because my warlock who auto hit with all 3 attacks against his last tank couldnt destroy it before the game was over.

This was a tough tough game althogh you wold think it would be pretty easy for my mobile shooty army.
I set up along my back left table edge with 2 dire avenger squads and my jetlock squad. I gave him first turn.
He drops the lord of change the bloodcrushers the deamon prince the blood letters the fiends and the horrors.
The lord and deamon prince drop opposite my tanks and everything else comes into the center of the board, except the horrors who drop on his objective. He then bolt of changes one serpent. I wasnt too scared because he didnt have much on anti tank, but the dice gods where with him and he blew on up and stunned the other. 5 dire avengers die in the explosion and i am already down one more transport than all of last game. everything else runs to spread out.
My first turn
Everything except my jetbikes come on and i shoot everything at his blood crushers, bloodletters, and horrors. He losses 2 horrors and 2 bloodletters. :( its not looking good, he has me boxed into my corner with a lot more about to come on. I prepair for the worst.
His turn 2
Nothing else comes except the plauge bearers and deamonettes. they run to try and spread out he shoots at the scorpions serpent and destroys it killing 2 scorpions. Charges the bloodletters into the banshees serpent immobilising it. Finishes off the 5 dire avengers with the fiends and shakes blows a bright lance off the dire avengers serpent.
My turn 2
At this point i have bloodletter and fiends in my lines about ready to tear me up so these 2 squads where priority number one. Also i realise that he doesnt have too many mobile troops so if i shoot a fire prism a turn at his horrors they should die by the end of the game and he wont be able to claim his objective. So I start off by dooming the fiends and moving the seer council up. I was planning on just torrenting them to death with my tl rifles from the seer council and then i would go hunting for the blood crushers, or the MC. My last dire avengers, the fire dragons, the jetbike squad, the banshees, and a fire prism take aim at the blood letters and poof they are gone. I positioned everything so that he couldn't charge me with the blood crushers who where right behind them in his turn. My seer council and a fire prism line up on the fiends and poof they are gone as well. I am now safe from any charges in his turn and i feel i can squeeze out a major victory if I just keep my troops alive.
His turn 3
This was a very interesting turn. Skarbrand finally shows up along with his flamers, unfortunitly his soul grinder misses one more time. He drops the flamers to the far right, skarbrand right in the center of the table next to the plauge bearears and the blood crusher. The plauge bearers move foward, the blood crushers move foward, along with the deamon prince and the lord of change. They are one more turn away from starting too charge my vehicles. At this point he realizes the fire prisms are killing his only troop choice back on his objective and starts shooting at them. He immobolises one and shakes another. He shoots the flamers at the fire dragons but can only see with 2 flamers because of a building in the way. He kills one.
My turn 3
The blood crushers are a turn away from being in assault range of all of my serpent less troops so they are priority number one this turn. I shoot the horrors with a prism, killing like 4, and shoot my other prism at the flamers killing 2. I doom the crusherss and line up my dire avengers, banshees, fire dragons, my 2 remaining wave serpents, the jetbikes, and the jetseer council to shoot and charge the crushers this turn. I basically fire my whole army at them while they are doomed. I think i kill 3. I then charge with the banshees and the jetseer council. This is where I made a crucial mistake and my opponent showed his true colors in being a dick. I didnt reroll to hit on any of my attacks against the crushers. this hurt me a lot because instead of wiping them out there was 1 and a half of them left. I attacked first and it wasnt until he rerolled his attacks against the banshees that i had seen my error. when i said something to him he just smiled and said this is ard boys. This was a dick move because skarbrands rule says everyone within 24 inches MUST reroll failed hits in close combat, not MAY. He just stood there with his arms crossed the whole time and didnt say a thing. This tied up my seer coucil in close combat to get charged by his whole army. I thought the game was over at this point because i had so few troops and transports left.
His turn 4
This is where the game swung back my way. The soulgrinder did not come in again. He moved his lord of change and deamon prince to attack my few remaining vehicles and everything else gets ready to charge. The flamers shoot the fire dragons and fry them. the deamon prince shoots at the immobillised prism and fails to do anything. the lord of change shoot the stunned prism and fails to do anything, but the lord of change is in difficult terrain and needs to roll a 6 to charge the none moving prism, he rolled a 5. The plauge bearers charge the seer council and the deamonettes charge the banshees. The banshees are wiped out. I kill the 5 deamonettes and the bloodcrushers with the seer council, while the farseer and Autarch kill 3 plauge bearers. I think i lost one jetlock and ended up winning by 8 kills. This wiped out the deamonettes and killed like 4 of the plauge bearers. Skarbrand moves up to the combat seeing a perfect time to strike down the farseer. All he needs is like a 3 on his fleet to get into base with the farseer and insta death away my fortune. Luckly for me he rolls a one and cant even get into combat at all becase the plauge bearers block his path.. This leaves the seer council locked up against the plauge bearers.
My turn 4
its at this point i turbo boost my jetbikes to go and try to take his objective away from him and his dwindling horrors. I killed most of the horrors and loaded up my dire avengers in my last transport to try and get the massacre I needed to get first place. The 2 mobile prisms move 7 inches so his prince and lord of change will need 6's to hit my vehicles because they are now in my lines trying to charge them down. The combat in the center is going good for me as i kill more plauge bearers and he loses more of them to fearless wounds. They are trying to put there attacks on the farseer but cant hurt him at all with his 3+ reroll.
His turn 5
He Brings up the lord of change to take out my last transport with troops in it. The deamon prince shoots and assaults a prism blowing it up. He kills my serpent with the dire avenger in them and they fail there pinning test:( The nurglings take another beating from the seer council and are wiped out. The flamers have nothing to shoot at so just sit around. Skarbrand sees my scoring jetbikes making a dash to his objective so he runs over and cuts down everyone but the warlock in hand to hand.
My Turn 5
Seeing the end of the game coming I need to get some vps to even get a minor win at this point. so i shoot a prism at the last 2 horrors to take his objective away. I kill one. So i shoot my last prism at them and he dies. I line up the jetseer council to crush skarbrand. and the scorpions charge the deamon prince. Skarbrand puts all his attacks on the autarch doing 5 wounds. If i fail one he is dead and he will have me in vps. I think i might live with rerolls. I pick up the dice and roll them. Low and behold i didnt even need a reroll. I then crush skarbrand to dust. The scorpions lost 3 and didnt even do a wound on the prince.

We roll and its a 4 so here we go.

His turn 6
He immobolises and weapon destroys one of my fire prisms with the lord of change. He brings over the 4 remaining flamers and shoots the dire avengers killing all but the exarch. He passes his moral check. The deamon prince finishes off the scorpions.

My turn 6
At this point i thought I would have a major win because the last dire avnger was 11 inches away from my objective with only the lord of change standing in his way. So i doom him and wipe him out with the jetseers. I then make my roll for his fleet and bam a 5. I am now on the objective and will have a major victory if the game ends now. This would be enough for me to get first, so i am very happy.

We roll and its a 4. DARN IT!!!
the deamon prince kills another prism leaving me one with no gun and immobilised. The flamers swoop over and shoot at the exarch. He didnt use the flame template because he thought i had a 4 up save. So he does 3 wounds on the exarch. So this is for all the marbles. If i can make these saves i will win the game. I only wish i had fortuned him last turn, but he was out of range. So i roll, and it comes up 4, 6, 2. DARN No major victory today. I kill the flamers and game ends.

Very close game. My opponent played me very hard. I should of been able to table him with ease but because of his amazing ability to kill my vehicles with what amounted to two missle launcher shots at me a turn was crazy. I swear i thought he had loaded dice. Hits and 5 to penetrate and a 6 to make it go boom. If i had not lost that dire avenger squad first turn i would of hands down won.

Results: Minor Victory(more KP then him)

I ended up placing 2nd over all and its funny because the guy I played first game ended up tinying me for second because he was on the lower tables massacering newbs. I got second though because i beat him heads up. It was great fun and I have rewritten my list to include more troops and eldrad for the semi's. I am breaking out all the cheese because i want that 2500 point army. Hope to see some of you guys at the finals!

I didn't think jetbikes could hold objectives. I thought only ground pounding troops (that aren't swarms) could hold them. I just figured that the bikes would be a good last turn objective contester but that would be it.

Anything that is troops, non-swarm, non-vehicle (except AC), and doesn't have a rule in it's Codex that prohibits it from taking objectives...can score.

It seems counterintuitive that a space elf riding a jetbike would be considered "non-vehicular" but whatever. I guess I learn something every day.

Yeah, they were vehicles in 2nd edition because I remember being able to kill rider off their bike. In 3rd they became wargear, just like jetpacks.

Stelek, you actually gave me the idea for most of this list. I posted it in the forums and you posted a counter mech list. I learned a lot from your impute. In my games i started to realize that if i took out the autarch and the scorpions, and put in eldrad and dire avengers it would do much better. So that is what i am doing for the semi's i am going to post up the list in the army list section, and i would be pleased if you ripped my new list apart.
