Was just perusing the Witchhunters book again, and I came upon the Blessed ammunition upgrade. Does anyone think that an immolator spam list with blessed ammo has a place in 5th? 11 immolators with HB and blessed ammo upgrades and all the troops inside having 2 melta guns comes out to around 1600 ish.

I'm not convinced as to the ability of this list to do well, but it is an interesting concept. 33 twin linked 36" str 5 ap 4 shots that ignore cover can really lay down the hurt on most armies.

I personally think I would like to have the twin-flamer spam for 100+points less, but this may require some exploration, especially if you have inducted guard squads in back with lascannons for long range anti tank/MC

The problem with the HB Immolator is that it can only move 6" and fire. The Flamer version can move 12" and shoot. This gets your troops inside into firing position much more quickly, and it also protects your tanks as the opponent now needs 6's to hit in assault.

Note that you still need Troops, which must be taken from the standard FoC before you can include Inducted IG.

It's tempting, but blessed heavy bolters have nothing on the immolater twin heavy flamers.

They have the same str and AP, but the heavy flamer nearly always hits more than 3 models (the max the HB can manage) and already ignores cover without having to pay for the upgrade. Plus you get to reroll wounds and they come for free on the immolator.

The only advantage of the HB is the range, but there are plenty of other places in a WH army to take longer range weapons.
