Are you transporting your tactical squads in the land raiders? If not i suggest getting some rhino`s maybe drop the scouts as i feel now with there new rules maybe not up to scratch especially when you have 4 10 man tactical squads, another thing to add would be a powerfist or 2 on some of the sgt`s maybe pending what your usually up against

Well, either fully drop podded or fully transported. As you seem to like Redeemers, go the second path.

I'm getting a feeling that Salamanders are going to be the favorite SM army for the next year, until people get a handle on how regular combat tactics works.
that being said, I can't deny the appeal of
Forgefather Vulkan
Master of the forge
5x podding ironclad dreads w/melta and heavy flamer
5x podding marines w flamer and multimelta
depending on the opposing army, either the ironclads or marines podding first, clear a drop zone, as the reserves pod in every turn exactly where you want them, the forgefather and vulkan pod in with the marines.
BTW: you have 4 heavy support choices in your army, you need a master of the forge to take ironclads as elites.

Actually his list is ok, Ironclads are elites to start with, Master of the Forge lets them be taken as heavy support as well.
Salamanders did get a big bump with the way 5th works too. Remember their reliance on flamers and melta's already well those 2 weapons are now argueably the best special weapons. Now given the chance to twin link them and MC TH's for a mere 190 (which is only about 10pts more than a captain with the same gear not counting the heavy flamer) i can't see to many reasons not to.
That said, replacing the ability to just slide out of combat if it's hopeless (i.e. against a wraithlord) or the ability to fall back from shooting to avoid a charge is pretty huge and a great tactical concept. It just comes down to your style but i agree, most people will only see the damage and not the tactics that the appropriately named combat tactics opens up.
Oh, and i think we'll see a lot of White Scar players now with the reduction of bike costs, squad size increase and the ability to split them. Some might bring the Khan but most of Scars players will probably stick to the captain (i know i would).
@OP
Sorry to get off topic but you need a 3rd transport for that one walking squad or possibly 2 if your termies are riding. Otherwise your army will hit in pieces and get smashed in return. Just be careful because even if LR's are extremely tough your have to get into the middle of it mean they are moving towards the weapons that kill them best. Looks fun though, enjoy

I'd rather have cleanse and purify then have to take Vulkan, so I'm not exactly happy as a Salamander player. But ahwell, I'll survive.
As far as the list -- too split up for my tastes. You have foot, mech and pod all jumbled into one list. Go one with a smattering support of another, not all 3 evenly split. Also the scouts are pretty meh in this type of list imho.

Good lord, what is it with Vulkan? Everyone's writing "Salamander" lists nowadays.
If you're running Vulkan, forget THs. Get as many flamers and heavy flamers as possible. Go Sternguard. 2x Heavy Flamers? Yes please.

Catch me if you can.

Thank you guys for the input. I greatly appreciate it. I'll throw a couple of my reasoning's and some clarity into my thinking.
1 LR would be carrying the Terminators, the other would carry a Tactic sqd.
I like 3 drop pods because in my mind it lets me control what is going on. 2 will always come down in turn 1. Vs most armies I see the ironclads coming down and wrecking some havoc on some troop units with 2 TL-hvy flamers each. While the tactical sqd will drop later in a position I feel is most needed.
In this set up I have 2 tactical sqds that will be mobile (Redeemer and 1 drop pod). The other two can provide what ever duty is most beneficial at the time. Orginally, I was looking at 2 land speeders with hvy flamers and multimeltas and some rhinos for my troops with the points for the Redeemer. After consideration though, I felt I was providing too many easy kill points.
Again, I appreciate the input and after a couple of test games I may adjust to your advice.
