I am starting my first warhound titan. I wantd to knw if anyonw knows a better way to cut platicard than a straight edge and an exacto? The other question I have is whether or not there is a cheaper "bulk" substitute for green stuff, and if so what it is called. Thanks

Not sure about another way to cut plasticard, but you can try "mighty putty" for a bulk greenstuff substitute. It sets up much, much faster, and you can get a large amount for pretty cheap. Just google "mighty putty" and you'll find it.

Stay away from the "Mighty Putty" unless (a) you're using it as a base and it will be covered over (b) you can work FACT and/or (c) You don't mind sanding/carving/filing... that stuff sets up FAST.
If you want greenstuff IN BULK, you can get it online or at any number of online sellers. "Search for kneadatite."
There is also sculpey, if you don't mind baking your creation. It's FAR cheaper.

scarecrow: you should be able to get just about any type/size plastic card you want at a hobby/craft supply store, not sure if they are national chain but in colorado we have hobby lobby. It's not very expensive if you buy the larger sheets.

You can use any kind of plastic sheet in place of plasticard... For Sale signs, plastic take-out containers, to-go drink lids. It's all game. Plastic sheet can be purchased from a variety of hobby shops, Model Train stores, or art supply shops. Manufacturers like Plastruct sell textured card, plastic rods, and pre-formed pieces to make modeling easier. Visit http://www.plastruct.com/ for more information.
As far as tutorials, there's plenty of them here at Dakka in the articles section. Look HERE

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

Yup, sure is.
I use a panel scriber (similar to this) and steel ruler, rather than an exacto, as the knife leaves a raised edge on either side of the cut and can wander off-line very easily.
Just score into the plastic with the scriber and then snap it along the line. Or, if you're cutting corners or bends, score it first with the scriber and then finish it off with the exacto. Gives much cleaner results.

For plastic card -
http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=76&product%5Fid=3008&cookie%5Ftest=1
The sheets come lightly rolled in a box for sheets 1mm and smaller. The sheets themsleves are 40 x 72 inchs. cost is 13 bucks US. With shipping its like 19 dollars. Its the cheapest place for plastic card by far.
GS has already been said above.

Also, in an ironic twist on something you threatened to do previously, I'm going to make another promise.
If the package is not signed for, it will be returned to me. If it is returned to me, I will set out everything that is in the box of import and burn it. I will watch it go up in flames.
The video that I shoot of it will be posted to YouTube. I will email you a link, as well as post links to it in open forums.
Remember when you threatened me that, if I sent you anything, you'd burn it and send me a link to the video, Matthew? Well, this way, you'll get what you want (burned models), regardless - MagickalMemories |

Just to throw this in, Mighty putty is excellent for structural work on miniatures that does not get seen - for example, sandwich a piece of it between two halves of a metal ork dreadnought torso, and that bastard will never come apart again.
It dries in about three minutes, however, and is in no way a good substitute for actual detail sculpting. I do occasionally use it to fill gaps in my plasticard work where I have left an accidental seam and am too impatient to wait for any other putty to work, as it takes sanding excellently after about ten minutes of curing.
Also be aware that the stuff is toxic and smells awful while mixing.
