In a spearhead deployment, you have a whole table quarter minus the bit cut out 12" from the centre.

What is your deployment edge? Is it still the long edge?

If it is the long edge, rather than half the long edge plus half the short edge, when is this relevant? Can you give an example?

maybe I'm not sure, but what is your question really driving at? is it where reserves come from?

pg 93 of the 5th ed Rulebook states "The player that goes first then chooses one of the long table edges to be his own table edge. He then deploys his force in one of the two table quarters on his side of the table, more than 12" away from the centre of the table (this is his 'deployment zone')."

Is there a unit or special rule that needs to know what your deployment edge is? because your 'deployment edge' is different than your 'own table edge'.

Beyond that, the start of page 88 defines what a player's table edge always is (a long edge).

Yeah, you pick your table edge (long edges) and then you pick the quarter on that edge.

This means that when you bring in reserves, they can come in from the entire length of your table edge.
