Ok-

Command
first thing- a junior officer with the Honorificus Imperialis, is far superior to a senior officer, and is only 10 points more.
also- you have no reason for a master vox, as you have no vox-casters in the rest of the army. there's 25 points saved.

Troops
A junior officer with a powerfist seems wasted when combined with a lascannon team. perhaps you should switch the models for the junior officer and the senior officer. That way you have a viable unit for shooting in the lascannon and plasma pistol, and a counter-assault option with the lead command team.

If you have the time and/or interest, a great thing for your force, would be to get some plasma or melta bits from a freind, or GW bits section, and convert some guardsman to have more powerfull special weapons. alternetly, you could by the special weapons blister that contains metal melta and plasma guys.

Heavy Spport/vehicles
-I'm not 100% on this- but i don't think camo netting does anything in 5th edition- so you might want to drop that and gain some points.

All your vehicles have hunter killers.... I'm not a fan of these. I can't think of many times that i would fire a krak missle and my hull weapons, rather than my battle cannon. I would remove these.

The basilisk does not need anything but indirect fire. It should be placed in a spot where enemys cannot see it, and therefore cannot shoot it.

Doctrines
Just for the ease of understanding your list, I would put the doctrines with the squad they were bought for. The way you have it now, i can't really tell who has what.

Sharpshooters is good.

Ratlings are nice to have.

Close order drill is good and free.

ok- cyber enhance, is a really big waste of points. You should drop this.

Light Infantry. This is good, it allows you to infiltrate.

Needed- Every guard army needs Iron Dicipline. It makes your troops so much better. think seriously about adding this.
-Cameoline. If you're up for the modeling challenge, this doctrine is better than sharpshooters, for the same points. It makes guardsman much more survivable.

good luck-

...one amongst untold billions.

Thanks for the input. I choose cyber enhance as Im usually playing SM, and lots of terminators. I figured that at least a small chance of living was better than none. AS for the basilisk, you're probably right. Also, the reason I put all the doctrines last is simply because it applys to all infantry, rules for doctrines state if they can take it, they have to take it. I gotta make some changes now. Thx

Iboshi2 stole my thunder here. Almost every list I have is led by a JO with Honorifica Imperialis. And he is dead on about the master vox being a waste of points. i would also ditch the medic unless you are gonna change those meltas in the command squad for plasmas.

I agree heavily with the second part. I've never been a fan of powerfists in IG armies. If your guard are in close combat then you WANT them to go simultaneously or if possible ahead of your opponent. Going dead last is just an easy way to not go at all because you're already dead, IMHO. Also i tend to put my plasma gunners in my line squads, and melta gunners in command squads, but thats just my rule for placing them.

HEAVY SUPPORT/VEHICLES

Drop camo netting. I would recommend dropping the HK missiles for the same reason stated by iboshi2, unless you have points sitting around and you cant find anything else to use on. And Iboshi2 is spot on about the basilisk. hide that damn thing and give it only indirect-fire upgrade and lob indirect death on your foes. Pie anyone?

DOCTRINES

Sharpshooters I like, and use about half the time. ratlings are OK, but I've drifted away from using them since 5th edition came out (and I have 30 of them sitting on the shelf behind me, LOL). COD is a must, and I usually use Drop Troops, although i have flirted around once or twice with Light infantry.

Also, the reason I put all the doctrines last is simply because it applys to all infantry, rules for doctrines state if they can take it, they have to take it. I gotta make some changes now. Thx

Actually no the rules dont say this. The rules do however say that if you take a SPECIAL EQUIPMENT DOCTRINE that you must apply it to every model that can take it. I think you're slightly confused there mate. Check page 57 of the 4th edition IG codex, on the right side of the page about half way down.

what the heck, I'll just quote the codex......

If this doctrine is taken (ie. a special equipment doctrine) then each special piece of equipment must be applied to every available model so if you choose camoline then every model that can have it, must have it. however if a Doctrine can be applied to Rough Riders you can choose to apply it to Rough Riders only.

Since this is the 3rd paragraph under the Special Equipment subsection in the Doctrines section, it is clearly referring to Special Equipment Doctrines only.

As an example, when I do take the Sharpshooter doctrine, I will sometimes only give it to my fire support squads. And if I want to I can give that to my line squads as well, but I dont have to.

Hope that clarification helps. happy hunting and let us know how the list plays out after a few battles.

lol, one other thing i just remembered that i wanted to say.....

grenade launchers are great in groups of 3 or 4, but by themselves they are not so great. would take them outta the line squads and maybe instead put them with a command squad where you can bundle them together or grab a special weapons squad instead (an option if you drop the cyber enhancements doctrine.)

Also, I'm not a huge fan of mixing the anti-tank weapons within the same squad. My anti-tank (and fire support squads too for that matter) are all matched the same. either 3 lascannon or 3 rocket launchers (never call them missile launchers, afterall....the first 4 letters in missile launcher are MISS!)

Just my 2 pfennigs worth. Hope that helps.

wow thx for all the input. Yeah I need plasma badly. I Take lgiht infantry becasue I can infoltrate anyone, (which in my last few games really pisses them off) Also, I definately will ditch the wargear on the basilisk. I take hunter killers becasue its an extra shot ebfoer it dies. As for the last thing I really do need the cyber enhancement as 9 out of 10 times IM fighting CSM or SM with LOTS of termies I know its expensive but a small chance o livig against storm bolters and auto canons is better than none. I do have a question for anyone. Is taking a psyker worth it?

Greetings! I try to run IG too. so here' my 2 pennies of wisdom. I think your troop choises are adequate, however you need to think about your opponents. MEQs usually are nearly immune to GL... Damn that power armour! For that very reason you shold also drop ratlings, as their weapons are powerless against MEQs. Try Hardened Vets with plasma and enjoy the look of surprise and terror. those guys can inflitrate and in conjuction to the Veterans Doctrine you can take multple groups.
Basilisks with Indirect are vey efficient against meqs, if your opponent isn't carefull you can anihillate whole squads. Demolishers are good but you shold drop Hunter Killer missile an anything but the chimera. You need more shots give the multilaser a chance on the chimera. Sentinels are best in squads of two with the same weapons throughout the squad. Go for multilaser Lascannon... AT squads: you need more Lascannons as they have the range to interfere with anything short of Battle cannons
On saves: The concesus is that Guardsmen are expendable thats why you have alot of them. If you want them to live go for cover saves...Practically invulnerable 5+ or 4+ and your best friend here is Cameleonine from the codex. Sure it's expencive but have you ever had 2+ save with Guard before?
Good Luck I hope I helped

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!
