Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Thunderfire Cannon.

The techmarine entry says the techmarine with a Thunderfire cannon reverts to being an IC is his cannon is detroyed. The army list also mentions the cannon seperate component of the unit. However there are no published stats or rules for the Thunderfire cannon itself, just how it shoots.

Does this mean:

1. Thunderfire cannon is armour 10 and destroyed by any hit. Simuilar to IG support weapons and equally useless for direct fire.

2. Thunderfire counts as a second 'wound' with the profile of the techmarine. First unsaved wound destroyes the cannon the second the user, target selection allowing.

3. Thunderfire cannon are invulnerable as per Eldar weapons platforms and they are only destoyed as part of a special rule that destroys anything in its AoE, such as a vortex grenade. Thus the rule about the techmarine reverting to IC status is just for completeness and is unlikly to occur outside apocalypse games.

4. Something else.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

My best guess is 3. There are no stats or armor for the Thunderfire Cannon.

The thunderfire cannon is Type: Artillery, so it is covered by the rules for artillery units in the BBB.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair.

Yes, thats the unit type. Reading the entry for Artillery you find it says to roll against the artillery's armor value. Which the Thunderfire Cannon has none.

Page 55: "The gun models are treated as vehicles with an armor value of 10."

Just on the same page,it is said that an artillery's armor value is 10(If not specially pointed).

Never dream about a "invulnerable" thing which has only about 100 points.

Artillery is treated as an AV 10/10/10 vehicle, that is destroyed automatically by any glancing or penetrating hit.
