I want a Mad Max miniature. Does anyone know what would be a good substitute for him? I'd like 28mm range but 25 is ok.

Are you talking Mad Max, Road Warrior, or Beyond Thunderdome? It might be tough to find the leathers and boots, properly modeled.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

The orlock Gangers from the necromunda range have a few that could do, not sure on availability of those models though. You can have a look on the GW website under specialist games.

There's a company called 'The honourable lead boiler suit company' , no seriously! who acually make a Mad Max figure. price is £3

Go to catalogue, paper street company, road warrior.

thanks that was very helpful, any idea how tall that mad max mini is compared to other minis? 40mm sounds to large for 28mm gaming

If you want it to be scale to 40k, I'd recommend taking a catachan IG model and green stuffing some assorted leather and spikes on. The face wouldn't probably actually look like mad max, but it would be pretty good.

If you were really good with greens stuff you could sculpt your own head, but I won't advise that because I know there's no way I could do it myself.

Cap'n Gordino's instant grammar guide:
"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

You can easily use wire (paperclip) to make the leg brace he had in Road Warrior. Also, Max didn't have spikes. He had leather, guns, and a car.

Finding a nice shotgun would be the hard bit.
Nothing will top green stuff for a custom leather jacket and haircut, so if you have any...

Black scorpion makes a figure which could be a suitable stand in. http://www.blackscorpionminiatures.com/product.asp?the_range=DR&product=DR1
