Having a hard time adjusting to some 5ed quirks...for example, I've always been big on multiple, cheap units, but that seems to be a major problem with KP scenarios. Of course, even expensive DE units are still fairly fragile. So, lets throw a couple lists out for review and see what kind of response they generate.
First list is fairly standard, I think.
Dracon, agonizer, pistol
Incubi master, 5 incubi
Raider with DL
3x 5 wyches, 2 with blaster, raider with DL
6x 8 warriors, 1 with shredder, 1 with splinter cannon in raider with DL
3x ravagers with 3 disintegrators
Raiders and wyches target tough targets/armor, while troops focus on enemy troops. Ravagers hurt just about anything. One strong melee unit...had played around with having two, but they're so expensive, it limited the number of dark lances I had on the table.
I considered taking a few lances in the warrior squads, but I think I'll need every shot I can get to slow down hordes.
Overall, seems pretty standard, but possibly effective.
Second list is a little more...odd, but seems like it might be interesting. It's a wych list.
Lelith
2x 10 warriors with 2 DLs
6x 5 wyches with two blasters in raider with DL
6x 5 warp beasts and beastmaster
3 ravagers with 3 disintegrators
This time, wyches and warriors focus on armor, ravagers on heavy infantry, and the warp beasts take on hordes. I figure, using downed raiders (or flying ones, for that matter) as cover, should be able to get the beasts forward fairly well...and with their good charge range, they can cover ground pretty quickly. Doing the math, I think they should do pretty well against orks and most daemons, especially with the proper ganging-up.
Lelith doesn't really fit, but I ended up with the exact amount of points for her, and she's a good deal, so figured I'd throw her in.
I've always been underwhelmed with wyches in melee...the standard attack is so poor, they seem to get whittled away by most opponents, but using them to blast stuff while beasts drag stuff down might not be so bad.
A lot more fragile with the troops here, though...a crashing raider could still do some serious damage to the onboard squad, and they'll drop to the slightest of enemy fire. Dunno....might be kind of fun, if nothing else?
