In the codex of both Deamonhuters and Witchhunters,it is said that these inquisitional armies can be taken as allies of "Imperial Guard and its variants".

So, is Imperial Guard Armoured Company a "variant" of Imperial Guard?

If so,does it mean that an armoured company army can take DH or WH allies?

Correct. It still won't make Armored Company good enough to play and win regularly. Monstrous Creature spam, vehicle spam, and even horde-style troop spam can all easily overwhelm basic Armored Company.

I truly wish this wasn't the case. I've got a lot of nicely painted Russes I want to bust out and run amok with. Instead I'd be busted up and run over.

both the DH and WH codex say they can have allies
but the Armored Co. entry doesn't say it can have allies...

Then it would be a DH or WH army with Armored company taken as the ally.
