Hey,
A thought occurred to me. There's plenty of units in the Ork Codex that don't get used. These include Burna Boyz, Tankbustaz, and so on. I think these units are pretty solid, especially with all the Ork armies floating around now.
What sort of army composition would you, as a player, choose if you knew you'd be facing Orks with your own Ork army? Why?

I don't play Orks myself, but I can't see why someone WOULDN'T take Burna's. Everyone has a flamer?! Everyone that doesn't use his flamer in the shooting phase has a power weapon?! YES PLEASE.

The Burna boyz roll up in the wagons and erase 3 ork mobs per turn, with the shootas mopping up.
I don't think there will be a turn 4.

It's because they go down as easy as the rest of the boyz, so people identify and they rarely reach target. If you want them to work you have to carry them in a transport.
A list kind of like MGIMD's works. Templates and lots of shots is killy killy for orks. Then again, ork horde lists work like that too so don't expect it to be win button either. Also that list leaves you open for mech lists.

nobody takes burnas because they could take lootas instead. burnas are fantastic, they are one of the best infantry choices i have ever seen, but lootas are just better. loads of flamer templates is great, but you have to get up close with them. lootas can destroy almost anything right from the get go. if burnas werent elite, id take them like a shot, but they occupy the same space as lootas, so i cant.

Best way to fight other orks is with a biker army. they out shoot the regular orks and can hold their own in assaults with toughness 5 and a 4+ save.

An anti-ork army is the standard ork army. Orks, when fighting the usual MEq use their volume fire and choppiness to overcome armour, not ap3. So when facing unarmoured orks this makes the same weapons, choppas, sluggas, shootas, lootas and klaws very good indeed.
Orks dont change their armament options they lack Ap and do without, so the same guns shoot all.
Burnas look like an exception, but they are not. Sure the flamer is nasty, but the power weapon is not. Its a two handed close combat weapon for ignoring the 6+ armour save and ork has. No thankyou. Only kroot are less well protected. Burnas will get in close, but not so close as to get all the flamers in range. After that they get charged and choppa'd to death by cheaper boyz with an extra attack. Burnas will be better off shooting, then trying to get a charge in. Ignore the power weapon bit, just smack the other lads with the hot burna. At least this way you get the furious charge in.
Either way the burnas are the third to die to lootas, after lootas and nobz. Which hopefully you will have some of before you get the burnas.
Burnas have thier uses, as a small unit with a couple of meks in a battlewagon. the combination of Av14, deffrolla, 4 burna templates and repairable vehicles is a nasty combo indeed.

I wonder if five or six mobs of trukk boyz would do the job too. You could have some trukks of burnas to keep your opponent guessing. You could move around the table to avoid some of the 30 boyz and focus your hits. Any small groups of nobs, lootas, and such would be vulnerable to tank shocks from the reinforced rams of trukks.
edit: I loaned my codex--can the burnas take a trukk?

Old fashioned trukk boyz following behind the battlewagons. You manuever to pick the assault time.
Slugga boyz assaulting = 48 attacks at S4 or 7 (nob) going before the typical foot-slogging hoard.
Give them a nob with a combi-scorcha and a uge choppa. You fly up there, kill 3 or 4 off of slugga fire, pop the scorcha for 6 more and charge in there. Should result in 12 or so more dead. So his remaining 7 orks and a nob get to swing back usually with shootas and a klaw. 14 S3 attacks 2 S8 attacks. On average we are talking 3 of your trukkers die. He lost by 9... I think he is running and 33% chance you run them down to the last ork otherwise they may get one or at best two parting shots before they hit their board edge.
You spent 92 points plus a trukk say 45 points, he spent 215 or so for his mob of 30.
Repeat that 4 times and you can probably time it to drop nobz in battlewagons with deffrollas and/or 1 to 3 of the same with burna boyz.
You are facing orks so this maximizes your chance to do the charging instead of the foot sloggers.
Another option is the deff wing (almost tempted to do it...)
2 warbosses in mega armor.
3 x 6 meganobs for elites
2 x 9 meganobs for troops with dedicated battlewagons with deffrollas.
3 x battlewagons with deffrollas and killcannons...
You only show your opponent 14 front armor and then when he does drop them, you only show him AC2 troops. The killcannons should
soften up the 30 boy mobs so you can get to the one nob with the powerklaw pretty easy.

horde orks vs horde orks first off, is ridiculously fun and amazingly brutal. everything gets stuck in, and pretty much whoever gets the charge wins the combat and runs the other off the board. I havent played against orks recently though (played against them back when 5th had just come out two days before) but if i had to fight them again, i would take a ToF ork list
mek w/ SAG
mek with KFF
2 squads of lootas to kill off the kans/every other unit in the army.
burnas in a stolen trukk to zoom around and light up 30 orks at once.
shoota boyz. tons.
grots for the SAG mek, always.
maybe stormboyz for countercharging. idk who before me said bikes, but such fragile units would be just really fast dead meat vs other orks.
either 3 battlewagons with killkannons and stick shoota boyz in them to protect from return fire, or 9 kans with grotzookas to blast the hell out of everything.

Ork vs Ork is going to come down to who charges who. The advantage is overwhelming for the charger because all their attacks go off first. I still think trukk boyz would be the best way to try to gain an advantage on the typical hoard. 13" move, 13" move, dismount, waagh or shoot and then charge. You are mostly initiative 3 with 48 attacks or more dependin on the nob and at S4 or more. Then he responds with 2 or 3 attacks for each orc that survives at S3. You should win every time IF the trukk doesn't go up in smoke first.

I think Orks vs Orks would be about as fun as 'nids vs 'nids, except with the possibility of a lot of cool conversions on the table. IE: not really enjoyable.
I'd rather just swap armies with the guy and let him see what it's like to fight orks. I think their book is so damn broken I don't even enjoy playing them.

Led by Mad Dok Grotsnik! Give em all Cybork bodies, take 'Kans or kannons as the HS and max em out. Da Dok in your main unit suddenly amkes the crazy little runts 5++ with a FnP rule as well. Orks Suck, Grotz Rulz!
Besides if you then move on to a larger battle you just spam up skorcha's and Burna Boyz and march em all behind the 180+ army of Cybork Grotz!
