My league is moving up to the 1000pts range and as such I have designed a few lists based on the tactical advice i have read on various forums on the net. Basically, I need help figuring out which list will be the most competetive (and how a list could be made more competetive), considering theres a good mixture of armies in the league.

List A - Jetbike Eldar

HQ (473)
Farseer: Doom, Fortune, jetbike, spirit stones, singing spear
6x Warlocks: Embolden, Enhance, 2xdestructor on jetbikes

Squad A (202)
6x Jetbikes: 2 Shuricannons
1x warlock one jetbike with embolden

Squad B (202)
6x Jetbikes: 2 Shuricannons
1x warlock on jetbike with embolden

and either

Squad C (120)
5 pathfinders

or

Heavy (125)
Fire Prism: shuricannon

(997) or (1003)

the idea here is pretty simple, the warlocks assault as fast as possible while the rest of the army hides and provides assistance before grabbing objectives as needed.

List B - Foot Assault
Karandras (215)
w/7x Striking Scorpions (112)

Avatar (115)

5 pathfinders (120)

1 Wraithlord: sword (100)

1 Wraithlord: Sword (100)

4 Striking Scorpions
w/Exarch Scorpion's Claw and shadowstrike

10x Guardians: Bright Lance platform (110)

999

the two units of striking scorpions use the shadowstrike to attack the enemy's flank on the first turn if possible. The MC's then march up the field to provide CC support while the guardians and pathfinders sit on objectives and provide fire support or anti tank.

List C - Foot Shooty

Ulthran (210)

10x DA’s (120)

10x DA’s (120)

10x DA’s (120)

3x War Walkers: 2 Scatter Lasers each (180)

2x War Walkers: 2 EML’s (140)

890 pts…. Don’t know what to do with other 100… thinking of scorps for CC protection, some pathfinders for more firepower and objective camping or something else…

pretty self explanitary, gunline eldar.

and finally...

List D - Mech Eldar

1 Autarch: Fusion gun (80)

Squad A (219)
7x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL Bright Lance

Squad B (219)
7x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL Bright Lance

Squad C (231)
8x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL Bright Lance

Heavy A (125)
Fire Prism: Shuricannon

Heavy B (125)
Fire Prism: Shuricannon

999

thanks,

Tomay.

I like the Mech list a lot. 5 grav tanks is not easy to deal with at 1000.

I'm personally a fan of Mech Eldar any time the word "competitive" comes up. Competitive 'Nids can run 5 MCs at 1000 points, no reason for you not to answer with the same ilk. That being said, I'll go down that list.

The Shuricannon upgrades on your Fire Prisms are wasted points. Your Fire Prisms should never, ever be only 24" away from anything.

You might want to switch the Autarch and Fusion Gun to a Farseer with Doom. When something is in range of a good pummeling via Shuriken Catapult, Doom makes everything better. Doom a unit, fly in two squads of Avengers, unleash hell, fly away next turn. Depending how much AV13+ you fight, you might consider changing the Lances to Missile Launchers. The Missile is the same against anything AV12 or worse, and the blast marker's pinning tests are great when your opponent is subject to and fails them. Of course, if you routinely find a Russ or three in your opponent's lists, keep the Lances.

I'd go for the mech list. However, I'd trade one DA squad for a unit of Fire Dragons in a Serpent.

Thanks for your input guys, most people seem to agree mech eldar are the way to go, and should be fun as well as competetive (i do love tanks). I got rid of 2 Bright lances for some more DA's and changed the autarch to a farseer with doom, who can hitch a ride with one of the units for some infanty killing goodness. I couldnt find points for spirit stones on the serpents or for fire dragons...

Mech Eldar

Farseer: doom, singing spear (83)

Squad A (231)
8x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL Bright Lance

Squad B (216)
8x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL EML

Squad C (240)
10x Dire Avengers
w/wave serpent: TL EML

Heavy A (115)
Fire Prism

Heavy B (115)
Fire Prism

Just remember to keep your Prisms far away from things that can shoot back at them and they'll be fine. It's better to give them a cover save than it is for you to leave a Prism out in the open. Use your Avengers as units to harass and kill things that can kill your Prisms: Lascannon squads and such.

Otherwise, the list looks fine and should be fun to play.
