Ok here is my first official 40k batrep, please bear with me since this is my first game against IG, and the sheer numbers of them kept me a bit confused, so my approximation of his list may be off.

PROLOGUE
Magnificent and terrifying in his purple terminator armor, Robert the Chaos Sorcerer of Tzeentch used a spike to pick the meat of his enemies from between his teeth. He surveyed the battlefield. There were a lot of Imperial Guardsmen out there. He turned to address Zog, a mewling pile of mutating flesh. "Zog, this doesn't look so good. I may stay behind and see how things go...can you head out first and see how things are?"

Zog vomited out a leather shoe from the mouth on his stomach. The mouth on his foot tried to eat the shoe, but it got caught and wrapped around his foot. It fit perfectly.

"I agree, old friend, you don't need me right now. I will definitely be there when you need me." Robert stepped into the shadows.

Home Team:
Chaos Space Marines
Sorcerer in Terminator Armor, Mark of Tzeentch, Gift of Chaos
8 Berserkers, Champ w/PF, Rhino
10 CSM, Champ, Melta, Flamer
Dread, multi-melta & CCW

IG sets up first and goes first. Sorcerer and Terminators stay in reserve.

Turn 1a, IG:
The arms fall off my Dread. Rhino dies without exploding. Battlecannon nukes 2 Berserkers. Zog the Spawn shrugs off massive firepower.
Turn 1b, CSM:
"Everyone, run straight ahead!"

Turn 2a, IG:
The legs fall of my Dread. CSM and Berserkers take a few hits. Zog shrugs off massive firepower.
Turn 2b, CSM:
"Everyone, run straight ahead!" Zog the Spawn charges forward and eats a squad of guardsmen. "Hey! Where's our HQ choice? We could really use his help..."

Turn 3a, IG:
All CSM explode in a plasma inferno. All Berserkers die, leaving behind a fine red mist. The surviving IG (95% of his army) melt Zog the Spawn. Chaos has no more troops left on the table. Technically I think that I've lost, but we carry on.

Turn 3b, CSM:
POOF! Robert the Sorcerer of Tzeentch arrives, along with the Barely Painted Terminators! "Hey, who brought the Reaper Autocannon instead of the Heavy Flamer?" Shooting kills some dude with a plasma gun.

Turn 4a, IG:
FIRE! The entire army shoots, and thanks to lucky rolls, only 1 terminator dies.
Turn 4b, CSM:
"The Chaos Gods demand a victory dance, we survived!" Sorcerer turns the nearest noble guardsman into a slavering Chaos Spawn. "I think I'll name him Zog!" Termies and HQ charge the enspawned unit. 2 wounds inflicted on IG, 0 on Chaos.

Turn 5a, IG:
"Back away from the spawn, gentlemen!" The guard wisely backs away from the slavering spawn and the Sorcerer who wants to make them look the same.
Turn 5b, CSM:
Robert the Chaos Sorcerer notes "Hey guys, let's keep this going for awhile, I want another pet spawn. Why else would I spend $25 on two of them?" The terminators listen politely as Zog goes berserk and demolishes the remainders of the IG squad. "Silly spawn of chaos!"

Turn 6a, IG:
"Gentlemen, do not be afraid to shoot your old friend who was mutated into a horrifying leprous beast a few turns ago." More incredibly lucky saves for Chaos, and 1 termie dies.
Turn 6b, CSM:
Zog, thanks to his beastiness, gets a long charge at yet another squad of IG, which includes their HQ. He eats them. Robert the Chaos Sorcerer move incredibly slowly towards the wall of imperial guns.

Turn 7a, IG:
FIRE! Chaos is wiped from the map again.

Wrapup:
Wow, one 40 point Spawn out-performed 960 points of the rest of my Chaos army. I think I need some new tactics versus guard other than just "walk forward."

EPILOGUE
"Dear Zog, this is Robert again, and I'm writing you from the Immaterium. You didn't answer my last letter, but maybe that's because you're mindless. Tzeentch is really mad at me for trashing the Rhino. Uh oh, I think a Chaos Squat sees me writing and is going to tell on me. I have to go, but I hope your fifth elbow feels better and I'll see you next week!"

THE END

LOL. Nice report. I am glad you are getting good use out of your 2-spawn kit. Now you need to get a second Sorceror and one of those 10-spawn kits!

DO you know what 1000 point guard hate more than anything? Being outranged, if you can do that, then you win... a defiler would be a great addition to your 1k force.

Here's how it goes

(Guard) "Gentlemen! Stand by your guns, don't fire till you see the whites of their eyes!!"
"Sir... they're chaos, their eyes are red"
"Ah yes well"...

they don't finish their conversation, they've been killed by a defiler.

Hehehe, this kinda reminds me of my own spawn, blurb. Made him of an old spider rider sans rider and stuck him on a 40 mm base .

Great report too, although, your tactics may need some upgrading...
