This is loosely based on Steleks Army of Death II....Changes were made based on finances and models already owned.

Kantor 175
4 Honor Guard with Ass. cannon razorback and dozer blade 230

5 Stern Guard with melta and MM with Ass. cannon razorback 210
6 Stern Guard with melta and MM Ass. cannon razorback 235
6 Stern Guard with melta and MM Ass. cannon razorback 235

10 Tac marines flamer and ML with Rhino 205
10 Tac marines flamer and ML with Rhino 205

3 Whirlwinds 255

Total-1750

Lacks the combimeltas and 7 assault cannon razorbacks based on lack of models and went with the Honor Guard to give Kantor some CC help and ablative wounds and take advantage of the +1 attack.

Thoughts?

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Asmodai (my new hero)

At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy.

I wonder why, fluff wise, Kantor, the Chapter frigging Master, is sitting in the rear lines with the artillery, when he should be in some drop pods leading the charge.

But if youre playing just to win, I can see success for you.

He's in a Razorback my friend with his honor guard zooming to the front

Having no assault units in the army really leaves Cantors ability of Inspiring Presence out in the rain.

Personally I am not impressed with Whirlwinds.

I see this army having major problems with assault and getting pushed off of Objectives relatively easily.

Good luck.

Whirlwinds really hurt non-Meq armies and Castellan rounds ignore cover saves, which is a nice bonus.

Everybody is stubborn, so I don't think I will be pushed away, but lack of assault is a bit of concern.

thanks for the help

You bet, I think it will look really cool!

I would love to fire the WWs at IG or Orks though, be awesome. I just think the future holds a lot of marine armies, who wont care so much about 3 WWs is all.

Maybe...

Think about Auxiliary Grenade Launchers as well, for at least a couple of the honor guard.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Like the list. Similar to my idea of a Kantor list posted ahwile back except I was thinking going with 2x MLs instead of MMs for the range and nice compliment to the various special rounds. Didn't have whirlwinds though, which is pretty killer.

The honor guard are not an assault unit? With kantor that unit puts out 21 power weapon attacks on the charge (6 of which are WS5). That is an average 5.75 MEq kills. Kantor then puts in his 4 powerfist attacks on what is left.

Sternguard with an extra attack are nothing to sneeze at either with their 2 base attacks.

If you go to 2k though adding another assault element is the way to go imho.

snoogums: "Just because something is not relavant doesn't mean it goes away completely."

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."
