Hey!
I´ve been playing eldar for just about half a year, so please feel free to correct me whereever i slipped up

HQ Farseer + Singing Spear + Doom
83 p

TR 10 Guardians + Scatter Laser
95 p

TR 10 Guardians + Scatter Laser
95 p

TR 10 Storm Guardians + 2 Flamers + Warlock + Singing Spear + Spiritseer + Destructor
136 p

E 10 Striking Scorpions + Exarch + Scorpion´s Claw + Shadowstrike
+ Wave Serpent + EML
337 p

E 8 Howling Banshees + Exarch + Executioner + Acrobatic
+ Wave Serpent + EML
285 p

FA 5 Warp Spiders + Exarch + additional Death Spinner + Withdraw
142 p

FA 1 Vyper + Scatter Laser
60 p

HS 1 Wraithlord + Bright Lance + EML
155 p

HS 3 War Walkers + Shuriken Cannons
120 p

1508 p

I tried to build up a list that can persist against geqs and meqs...

The farseer goes with the banshees and casts doom, helping them to inflict more wounds ( stupid s3 ^^ ).
My Storm Guardians will protect the Wraithlord from hordes ( or more likely : they will die trying, plus they provide the essential spiritseer ).
The scorpions ( + their serpent ) and the war walkers will be held in reserve.
Both serpents are equipped with an eml, to stand against hard armour and hordes ( i know, bs 3 is bad, but it´s still twin-linked !! )
I thought about equipping the serpents with twin linked bright lances, but decided against it ( points and versatility were the main reasons i chose the eml )

I`m not sure about the vyper.
Last time I fielded this unit, it distracted the enemy a lot, and did adequate damage, but i don´t think this will work often, for it is a unit so fragile...
If my opponent decides that 1508 is too much, i´d drop it...

Please help me :
* Can this army beat tau, orcs, marines, imperial guard.../ is it competitive and
versatile enough ?
* Are there major mistakes i´ve made ??

Thanks

PS. : i thought about certain changes in the list already :

-> taking 5 fire dragons + exarch + dragon´s breath + crack shot, mounted in a serpent ( actually in the scorpion´s serpent, who would infiltrate or outflank without the serpent anyway )

-> a spiritseer could accompany the guardians, who will deploy around the wraithlord, creating a strong fire base, that can persist against almost any foe... ( 2 scatter lasers, 1 eml, 1 bright lance is quite a threat)

-> having only 2 standard units leaves but one option: annihilate the enemy...

-> i will calculate the points, maybe i can equip a serpent with twin linked bright lances

Farseer is fine but probably not worth giving him a Singing Spear if he's with the Banshees as 99% of the time they will fleet. Guardian Defenders are ok, just keep them in cover, maybe add a Warlock with Embolden to keep them around longer. Storm Squad won't be that effective in that format, the 2 flamer + Destructor combo is very nice but on foot they will get shot long before they get into range to use them, getting them a Wave Serpent is easiest way around this unless you want to take an Avatar and use a full strength squad. Losing this squad (they will get shot not assaulted) also presents the problem that your Wraithlord no longer has a babysitter which is never a good thing.

Scorpions and Banshees are fine, sneak another couple of Banshees if you have the points (remembering that the Wave Serpent can carry 12). I've never used Warp Spiders or seen them used to any effect so can't comment on them really apart from that small Eldar squads tend to die fast no matter their armour save. The Vyper is fine, just stay out of bolter range and you obviously need to be very careful with it in a KP mission. Wraithlord is also good.

War Walkers will just die a painful death with that weapons loadout, they are only armour 10 so moving them into bolter range is never a good idea. Also Outflanking with them is not usually going to be a good idea for the same reason. Give them a combination of Scatter Lasers and/or EML to enough range to stay alive.

You do also have the problem (which you did mention yourself) that you only have 3 scoring units. To me this in itself is not the issue, the fact that they are all Guardians with T3/5+ (ignoring cover of course) with no Embolden or Avatar to stop them running away at the first loud noise is a much bigger problem.

On your possible changes;
Fire Dragons are always good but I wouldn't bother with the Exarch's Flamer (or even the Exarch) as with that many in the squad most games they will get 1 shot off (and usually kill a tank) before being killed. Warlock (why Spiritseers?) in the Guardian Squads is fine as mentioned above.

Sorry if I sound harsh but it needs some work before it does well.

If you can afford to. Lose the walkers. Lose the vypers. These are KPs you are almost handing over to your opponent.
Options:

Get a unit of pathfinders, hard to kill, loves picking off marines, drools at the sight of carnifexes and tyrants (wraith lords too).
This will hold an objective really nicely unless he assaults it.

Get your doomlord out of the serpent with the banshees let him babysit your wraithlord. He still has a no LOS 24" range. He really can hit most of the board anyways without the ride.

One more wave serpent and get that guardian storm in it with a destructor warlock. Now you have mobile templates of doom and a troop choice that you can actually get to another objective for a late objective control. Alternate is to let the scorpions walk... not as fast but now they can outflank and assault on their first turn on the board... Fair trade off.

Get 3 more figs in your guardian squads. Just to make your opponent have to kill 4 to get a morale test the first time he shoots at it.
If you can find the points, get the embolden warlock in them 30 pts to ensure they stick around... attach the farseer to one of them and he will thank you for the rerolls on psychic tests. Gets you 3 6" bubbles in your defense area to keep the lord from going dumb on you so you can lose the spiritseer.

Personally, I would like another doomseer there are always times the second doom comes in handy(dooming the pathfinders target) and runes of warding helps screw up opponents psychic tests. A mind war or an eldritch storm would also be nice but we are now eating up points.

If you need to nick some points... shurken cannons instead of scatter lasers... lose 1 shot, down to 24" range. Before you do it, start looking at your battles and see how often you NEED the 12" of range. The cannon will actually drop a light vehicle every now and then since you are no longer taking the +1 for the - AP. Guardians are really harassment units and area denial. (No ork likes walking into two units of guardians with a doom hitting them and then a potential for 44 S4 and 6-8 S6 shots with rerolls...)

I find that spiders look cool, sound cool but rarely do you get your points out of them in a game. Maybe you have had luck with them but if you lose them you are looking at enough points for the pathfinders or the warlocks and extra guardians or the serpent for the storms...

And just to point out... you are not far from having a total mech eldar force....

10 scorpions (outflank) in or out is up to you...

10 banshees in waveserpent

10 storms + warlock in waveserpent

10 guardians in waveserpent

10 avengers or 10 guardians in wave serpent

hmmm 2 or 3 fireprisms and you leave the rest at home.

and a farseer to take a ride...

maybe buying a third wave serpent would be a good idea
this would give me more firepower and flexibility ( plus anti tank support -> if they are equipped with bright lances )

Well, when I first saw the list I hesitated to make the suggestion to field a mech army. But now I'm not the first to make this suggestion.

STD 3x Jetbike Guardians + Shuriken Cannon

E 10x Striking Scorpions + Exarch + Scorpion´s Claw

FA 1x Vyper + Scatter Laser
60 P

HS 1x Wraithlord + Bright Lance + EML
155 P

HS 3x War Walkers + Shuriken Cannons

The plan is constructing a strong firebase with the wraithlord and the 2 guardian squads,
the scorpions will take a role as a counter - attack unit,
and a mobile force consisting of serpents and jetbikes + vyper will take the fight to the enemy...

i´d like to add shadowstalker, for it is a very useful ability, but i donßt know where to draw the points from^^
