after recently looking at a list of SOB with loads of immolators i started getting ideas, heres what i have:
(not competative, just fun)

HQ:

Big mek - KFF, Eavy armour, burna - 110
Big mek 2 - Eavy armour, burna - 60

Elite:

15 Burna boyz (footsloggers) - 225
12 Burna boyz (in looted wagon A) - 180
11 Burna boyz (with mek 2 in looted wagon B) - 165

Troop:

20 Boyz - nob, power klaw, 2 rokkits - 175
20 Boyz - nob, power klaw, 2 rokkits - 175
20 Boyz - nob, power klaw, 2 rokkits - 175
Deff dread - 2 Skorchas, grot riggers - 90

Fast attack:

3 Warbuggys - skorchas, grot riggers - 135
3 Warbuggys - skorchas, grot riggers - 135
2 Warbuggys - skorchas, grot riggers - 90

Heavy:

Looted wagon - ard case, big shoota x2, skorcha, grot riggers - 75

This will be a fun army, but I don't know how often you'll win with it... other than vs other Ork/Nid armies.

The couple issues I see:

1 - Burna Boyz in a vehicle are good, but since the vehicle can't move over 6" and still let them fire from within, they'll have to get out. And then they're very vulnerable (if not charging). Walking Burna Boyz are not that great either. If you're going to go this route, you should commit and put them in Battle Wagons.

2 - While good on the Deff Dread (and why not take 2?), Skorchas on the Killa Kans are not as good. The grotzookas are so much better.


I love the skorcha buggies. I think some will overlook them... once.

I might consider a Kommando squad or two to replace a Burna mob. Using Outflank (or maybe Snikrot's rule if you want to spend a ton) and the two burnas they can get - they can be quite good.

john, they will simply be in the wagon for 1 or 2 turns, get them dropped behind terrain then they are ready.

john, idea of my amy is simply to set fire to anything and annoy people with endless templates.
but the 2nd dread sounds good.
for the price of the skorcha buggys all i want to be happy is for all 8 of them to get atleast 1 shot off, anything else is a result, and draws fire away from the burnaboyz.

tempted with the burna kommando's as snikrot is a beast, and should be an amusing conversion.

this list is my fun one, but i will be making a more serious one soon.

A decent idea as well, declare waagh on the turn you drop the boyz from the transport, could be a risk, however, run straight to the enemy, drop, waagh, assault...

Very very risky idea, but could take out a lot of units very quickly. Then follow up with your reign of fire.

Edit: Watch your placement on your burn units (Forgot to mention), last thing you want is them to fail save and burn themselves alive before they get to the fight.

how do they burn themselves alive? 0_o

i am tempted to drop sme things so i can have 3 units of 15 burna boyz in wagons.

and with 3 attacks each on the charge thats 45 power weapon attacks per squad on the charge, so termies and most MC's get crushed

great for dealing with SM and CSM aswell :d

Burn themselves alive during Waagh (Chance that the boyz start shooting before they get to the fight, and take a wound for failing save).... I'm pretty sure this applies to burnas as well.

then charge the power armor and tear it apart.

Are you running shootas or sluggas for the three boyz mobs?

allways sluggas, never use shootas.
prefer orks in combat to orks sat back shoting.

Ouch, that's going to hurt you running across the board all day...

I'd take that list with Shootas, or maybe 2:1 Shootas v Sluggas just so you can lay down some fire before turn 3.

Try and add a boss pole to your big meks. They are the only way you can get one in burna mobs and the last thing you want to see is for your burna-boys to be pinned after their ride gets blasted to zog and back.

Gotta run the lootas and skorchas, not burnas and skorchas.

You need lots of threats to allow lootas AND skorchas to survive.

They both provide that threat.

You also will get destroyed by mech lists and gunlines without either lootas or Battlewagons holding something good to draw fire and actually kill stuff.

It is very burny, but in my experience it's too burny.

9 heavy flamers really is 'enough' against most armies. Honest!

stelek, a few points mate:

this is a fun list to piss off my mates (1 collects orks and 3 collect swarm nids) so its not competative.

adding lootas take the burnyness out of it, meaning its not a true pyro army.

no such thing, any true pyro will tell you that you can never have enough fire.

Well not sure how fun is equal to pissing your mates off, but ok.

when i play orks one started with immolator spam while the other took strangler fex spam

so its just some paybacks
and probly the longest battle i would have ever played.
