alright so I played a drop pod army for ard boys and I didn't win a single game. but because of the power I was able to concentrate I tied 2 of the 3 and only lost the third because of dice (a few marines dropped and 2 squads ran) and the biggest problem I had was a unit that could help me knock his force back. I ran 4 drop pods 2 had 2 meltaguns sarge with combi melta, other had the plasma equivilant. 2 vindicators, crusader, assault termi's and chaplain. sternguard have so many ability's that they can fire through your guys and ignore cover, hit high toughness models where other bolters would be wasted (and their special weapons have to take it out). their the swiss army marine, and I can see them being effective at range but really shinning in drop pod assault. where marines really needed something... what other ideas have you come up with using these new vets?
