can you use gate of infinity and locator beacon together?

Why could you not?

Gate of Infinity clearly says that you arrive back on the table using the Deep Strike rules.
Anything that affects Deep Strike will work: Locator Beacons, Teleport Homers, Jamming Beacons (Land Speeder Storm), etc.

hmmm, good question.

The way I see it the key phrases would be:

Locator Beacon - "Arrive on the battlefield" "via deepstrike"

Gate of Infinity - "removed from the tabletop and immediately placed back together" "using the deepstrike rules"

While some would argue that he is technically not "arriving" I think that's fine since gate of infinity stipulates that the unit should be removed and placed back on, logically, you can arrive at the same place as many times as you want as long as you leave between arrivals.

So then it boils down to whether or not using the deepstrike rules constitutes arrival via deepstrike. This I really don't have an opinion on though, I can see how it would swing both ways and don't really think one is more convincing an argument than the other.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

The phrasing clinches it in my mind. Normally, when they want you to use a a ruleset without implicit benefits/penalties from other sources, they use qualifiers like 'as though' or 'like'. so, say they don't want you using that locator beacon for Gate of Infinity. I presume they would say something like "[Pick up your Librarian dude and his bros in the same squad if he's attached to one] and replace them anywhere within 24" as though they were deepstriking". See? you do so in a manner like deepstriking, without actually being able to claim they were deepstriking (say, for the purpose of benefiting from a locator beacon.)

Though apparently, as a brain-dead chimp I am unable to present corroborating evidence/quotes, this is all just proverbial breeze-shooting. If anyone runs across anything conveniently confirming my viewpoint, be a dear and post it would you?

I dont have my codex with me right now , but I am pretty sure Teleport homers only work on Terminators.

Locator Beacons work on everything though.

I would say yes, you are using the rules for deep striking and the model and unit are deepstriking.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Hollismason is correct - Teleport homer = only terminators who teleport onto the battlefield.

Please note - terms like 'always/never' are carried with the basic understanding that there are exceptions to the rule, and therefore are used to mean generally...

GBF, you are right. We all should. In fact, I suggest everyone just PM Stelek any rules questions that they have.

Ok, so if you are Gating a unit of terminators with a termie librarian in the unit, can you use a Teleport Homer?

They aren't being Teleported, at least not in the rules description for Gate. So no, no Homers.

It took at least 12 power dice to raise this buried thread back from the dead.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
