Allrighty, after recently coming into possession of a large number of Kasrkin to augment my Krieg Grenadiers, I want to try a list that maximizes the number of stormtroopers I can fit into a 2000pt list, so here goes.

Doctrines:
Stormtroopers
Grenadiers
Sharpshooters
Carapace Armor
Iron Discipline

HQ:
Carapace
Junior Officer, Honorifica, PW, ID
4 guardsmen w/2 flamers

2x 3 Lascannon anti-tank teams w/sharpshooters & carapace

Elites:
3x 10 Stormtroopers, 2 melta guns, Infiltrate

Troops:
3x 10 Grenadiers, 2 plasma guns, Chimera w/Multilaser and heavy bolter
2x 10 WH Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, 2 plasma guns, Chimera w/Multilaser and heavy bolter
1x 10 DH Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, 2 plasma guns, Chimera w/Multilaser and heavy bolter


That nets 6 chimeras, 90 Stormtroopers of various types, 6 Lascannons, and a 5man flamer command squad.

total weapons, 12 plasma guns, 6 melta guns, 2 lascannon teams, 2 flamers.

The big thing I'm worried about is anti- heavy tank capability and anti-horde ability (as in, dealing with 180 orks, not a couple dozen Nids)

I think you should switch in a pair of Russ tanks. The other option is make the Elite squads 5/6 man suicide. Or you could even include a third Meltagun in a Hardened Veterans squad. At a points premium w/ the Carapace.

You can't take allies from more than one codex so you can't have the WH and DH stormies.

Consider putting one of the =I= teams in a rhino with 2 flamers. Drive the rhino out and double flame any hoards.

I think Kid_Kyoto is right on the allies thing.

About the list:

Drop:
Carapace

The 2 lascannon teams

The DH Inqusitorial team (illegal)

With the points saved you can add Russes/Hellhounds to help with hordes or maybe special weapons melta teams. Possibly switch some of the storm trooper squads to meltaguns as well.

There's a codex rule allowing you take take Witch Hunter and Daemon Hunter allies.

Raxmei got it on the Allies thing, unless there is something else somewhere that doesn't allow allies from more than on codex that I forgot about (its possible I guess), the WH and DH books only state that you can't take other noninquisitorial allies like Kroot Mercs.



As for dropping the lascannons for Russ tanks, what would I use as primary anti-tank? Leman Russ tanks are notoriously poor anti-tank units, even if they are great at smashing infantry. Hellhounds would solve the anti-horde problem, but tanks and MC's would still be an issue. Hrmm...


flamers in a rhino could be fun,didn't think about that.

I think give the INQ storm Troopers Rhinos.

just curious, have you playtested this list yet?

Yeah, it doesn't sound too bad. I though about somthing like this myself. Personally I would replace the 3 elite with veterans. Theya re cheaper and generally do a better job. They also have assault weapons and can take a fist.

yea it can win but it very hard to do.

The vanquishers are my only real long range Anti Tank thought about droping them for reg. Russ's with Heavy bolters

It eats Marines and some times orks.
It's just a theme Army for fun.

I Played againist two Marine Armies won 1 and lost 1 and won againist orks.

Veterans are cool an cheap but I'm going for a all Storm Trooper Army.
