Ahoy there. Long story short, I just got back into 40K and I have a really clear image in my head of a SWAT-style Witch Hunter army with crap loads of Inquisitorial Storm Troopers. You know, like would come in handy for Hunting Witches...

*Ahem* But, yeah, even if I shell out for the proper models, FW Kreig Death Corps or even Steel Legion, I'm still going to convert the hell out of them, so it seems somewhat of a waste. I'd prefer the plastic Cadians both due to cost effectiveness and ease of conversion, but only really decent head I can find for them isn't even GW. I would probally go ahead and use non-GW parts if it was the body, but the head somehow seems more important...

Do you think this would be perticularly looked down upon, esspecailly since I want to at least use them to do combat in official store clubs? Or is it simply a matter of getting them to look cool enough that nobody will question them? Should I just man up and buy the official models? Or maybe convert to Imperial Gaurd (and use them as normal gaurd), so that they are at least the right base models? :S

I believe it is 75% of the model has to be GW to use in official tournaments. I think it will be ok to use another companys head...

If you only use cadians as stormtroopers then that will be fine too, because if you tell your opponent they are all stromtroopers, He should be ok with it. The same goes for tournaments...

I'll be adding copper wires and studding the armour out, so the main question is weither they will look like Cadians anymore... and strangely, Pig Iron is actually were I was going to get the heads from (not that specific kind, through)...
