I was kind of coming up with a list of what powers are best suited for which armies also which armies are the weakest out of the list.

As far a weakest, I would have to say Quickening is actually kind of crappy along with Might of the Ancients would have to be the weakest of the bunch.

Quickening because you can buy a jump pack and definitely get a full 12 inch move and not have to worry about a low roll messing you over. Granted he can combine the two but honestly with his two attacks base he honestly is not a combat machine , WS5 yes. I10 with a power weapons great. He is not really intended to operate on his own he only has 2 wounds and at best he can have term armour and storm shield.

Might of Ancients for the same reason the only way he can use that awesome ability of the force weapon and this is if he is epistolary. So you have paid 150 points on the hope that he hits with all and wounds; eh not really worth it. 2d6 armour penetration is kind neato but when he can have a STR10 blast from 12 away or a meltagun combi for ten points fantastic.

So this is how I currently have my Librarian set up.

125 points, and I give him
according to which army

So what are your best powers versus what armies.

Avenger vs. MEQ equivalent is brutal and fantastic to place on him with a Jump Pack and assault squad.

Null Zone vs Any army that relies on invulnerable such as Demons. Best with Sternguard which I used to take out nightbringer.

Gate is just a awesome ability period.

I'd like to hear some more combos? I love using him and he seems fantastic for the points.

What are some of your combos? Mine as before is gate + sternguard along with nullzone.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

You actually tool up your list vs each army you play?

take note that the librarian rules say his powers are "chosen when the army is picked" so in a tournament setting you couldn't change powers from game to game.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

The Quickening isn't impressive on a normal Librarian, however on Tigurius it is devastating when combined with a force weapon and the power that gives him S6. He's a pretty awesome character assassin now, albeit an expensive one.

I take mine at base cost, take the veil and the invul save power. He's just a hoodbearer.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

I10 with a force weapon, 2+ save, and 3+ invul doesn't float your boat (for 140 pts)? Chaos pays 120+ points for an I5 force weapon w/ 3+/5+ saves, and no force hood.

The librarian is a good points value, period. Any disagreements? Please tell me why you disagree.

You conveniently left out the fact that Chaos Sorcerers have more wounds, more attacks, and a higher initiative than Librarians. Oh, and Lash.

Regardless of the comparison, Librarians have some neat tricks so I still like them. They just fill a more tactical role now, rather than being just another IC close combat killing machine.
