Hey all,
So, I've decided to start up a Space Marine army. I haven't played S. Marines since third edition, although I've seen them often enough in games. I'm hoping to glean information/advice from all of you out there who know "things" about Sapce Marines. What I'm basically asking for here, is tips as to what others think should be in a force. I'm going after 1750 pts. to start with, competitive enough for an upcoming tourney.

Thanks to all who respond. I'll be cranking out "idea" lists in a couple hours, which I will post for the usual picking apart and ridicule (seriously, be as harsh as you want, ain't gonna hurt my feelings none).

Well, I'd go for a chapter with special rules, like Crimson Fists, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Imperial Fists or White Scars.
Ultramarines would also be an option but I hate their look.
I found that Salamanders are nice (if you can stand 'green') if mounted in transports (Razorbacks/Rhinos/Drop Pods).

I like the white scars army the best out of the new codex. I am not sure that it is the "best" army, but it would be my favorite to play.
