Well, the list is not mech, tried to keep with the ulthwe theme by fielding guardians and "black guardians" (count as Dire avengers). Guess I can justify eldrad then also Oh and no aspect warriors either (unless you count the DA's, but imo its fluffy for Ulthwe to have bs 4 catapults. We used to get them for free!)

9 DA’s w/ Exarch: Forceshield + power weapon, defend:
9 DA’s w/ Exarch: Forceshield + power weapon, defend:

Eldrad:

Avatar:

Guardian Unit: 10 Guardians w/ EML. Warlock w/conceal, singing spear.

Wraithlord: EML, BL:

8 Harlequins: Shadowseer all kisses:

4 Jetbikes: Cannon:

Fire Prism:
Fire Prism:

Total 1497

I think the way the list works is fairly self explanatory. Everything on foot supports each other. Prisms are there just as much to tank shock off objectives and draw lascannon fire away from the avatar/lord as they are to throw out ap 3 pie plates. Bikes are there for last minute objective caping and will be in reserve.

As for the foot contingent: Self generating cover saves with the clowns/guardians. Black guardians act as my mid range fire support and tarpit units along with the lord in combat. Counter charge with harlequins, eldrad and the avatar.

Disclaimer: I know this is not a competitive list. I come from a country where comp is marked rather severely. Please don't judge it as you would a bike council list etc. Its not going to be facing opponents like that. The lists I will face will also be "balanced" (Read: 4 tac marine squads w/ any two of: Vindicator, LR, assault marines, bikes, termies)

Thoughts? Critique?

(edit: forgot to take out points values!)
(edit again: accidentally deleted a unit of DA's... sigh need sleep)

Well, its a reasonable list for non-competitive play. I'd leave it. Conceal might not be necessary if you could deploy the unit in cover.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I think it is cool. The Dire Avengers Exarch is largely a Defensive upgrade, similiar to a Warlock. I am a little jealous tbh.

You should bulk out your Guardians to 14 man w/ Conceal for a good bodyguard for Eldrad.

thanks for the response. Not a huge number of replies, but i think that is what you should expect when you use "balance" in the title and not, "super hard jetbike council!".

I think the conceal is quite necessary. YOu effectively give the rest of the army 4+ cover saves anywhere on the table and the unit giving the cover also has a self generating save.

Id love to bulk out the guardians but i simply don't have the points. I think i could drop a harlequin and grab more guardians. What you do think? 28 rending attacks or 32?

Also was tossing up dumping the DA"s and grabbing a big troop unit of wraithguard. THoughts? Seems i would greatly weaken myself in terms of longer range, anti infantry fire support, but would have a rock solid unit. Thoughts?
