Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

With the new Ironclad, the ability to bring 6 Venerable Dreads(BS 5 MM's!), drop pod rules, and all the other little goodies in the new codex, does it look like one might be able to come up with a COMPETETIVE list featuring loads of dreads?

What sort of options do you think would be most useful?

Ironclad>Venerable? Venerable>Ironclad?

With the combinations of heavy flamers and melta weaponry availiable, seismic hammers and the like...does this strike anyone else as a possibility for a really hard list. We've got LR spam and mechanised lists out there taking advantage of the new damage table, what about dreadnoughts?

Thoughts?

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

I'm workin' on it, oh believe I am.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

A Dread heavy army is certainly viable.
Venerable makes them more survivable, but may not be so important in a Dread spam army.
I'd mount the Dreads into drop pods and take drop podded Tacticals for scoring purposes.
