Thunderhawk Pilot Dropping From Orbit
wait wait wait wait... huh..?

I have become the defacto storage unit for all of my friends' minatures. I must have about 10,000 points worth of models that don't belong to me, and whenever I'm bored painting the staunch warriors of the angels malignant SM chapter, I end up painting whatever models that my friends have that look interesting.
Now that we have started to game consistently, I find myself making more and more cover for our ever growing cadre of gamers. This latest project, is the downed Valkyrie (woot! spelled that right on the first try! Eat that 2nd grade pselling Bee!) from the battle at Macrage boxed set. I have given it a black base coat, and am in the process of drybrushing the dirt grey (because our most commonly used terrain board is a big city.) and have found, that I absolutely have no idea what to paint the actual Valkyrie. Aside from grey but i don't wanna mommy
Please help

Yeah. You really showed that "pselling Bee."
Sorry. Couldn't resist. I got a big kick out of that.
As far as painting it... What color(s) do you want to paint it? Are you going with standard gray, or something else?
...or, is that what you're looking for? Color suggestions? Something to go over the "dirt gray?"
Sorry, I just couldn't tell if you're asking for a suggestion on what color to paint it or HOW to paint it.

I meant to do that :S ... I SWEAR
Anyways, I meant to ask what colors to paint it, I really don't want to paint it grey, cause it will just look slowed in the middle of a very grey city (grey buildings, grey board, etc).
I am absolutely stumped. But here are the paints that I have
All of the silver metalic colors
Shining gold, and dwarven bronze.
Catachan green. Snot green, Dark Angels green.
Bleached bone, Khaki whatever its called.
Red Gore, Blood red.
Regal Blue, Ultramarines blue.
Golden yellow, Sunburst yellow.
Black, white. (running low on white)
Shadow grey, fortress grey, godex grey, space wolves grey.
Elf flesh, dark flesh, vermin brown.
Varnish.

Being nitpicky:
It's not a Valkyrie. It's an Aquila Lander, which is a very common diplomatic vehicle for the Imperium. That might help you out a bit more, as you don't need to do it in a military-ish scheme that you'd see on a Valkyrie.
One of the color schemes I've seen for it that was pretty cool was black hull, with bleached bone trim and blue detail work. Or heck, you can just do it all black like a presidential limo

LOL, being nitpicky is absolutely fine, especially when you bring such information to the fore (I'm not being sarcastic I swear, D@MMIT! THAT SOUNDED SARCASTIC TOO!)
Anyways, with the whole diplomatic thing, I was thinking red, with gold trim, and black detail work. Maybe I'll put some pictures up

Red would stand out quite nicely with a primarily gray imperial city.
A pox upon me for being so obsessed with pselling that I missed the whole "Aquilla" thing. : )

Anyway, about painting, I find that the bigger the brush you use the better. And drybrushing is the simplest, just three coats in progressively lighter colours, or just two coats and your done!!
its meant to be about playability, not just showing them off!! but it does help to have a tres cool table

You may want to finish it with a very light grey/white drybrush (possible reddish grey..?) to indicate some time has passed since it crashed and it has collected some dust.
