Hey, Xav, Deathguard might be fun for you but not for your opponents. I see parallels to your former Deathguard lists, right?

yeh its a bit similar to my previous list but i think better, people were right when they said the 2 DP's were a serious point drain i replaced it with a termy squad, the icon on the plague marine squad is to help drop the termies and DP when close enough to stop them getting damaged on the LONG walk up. Im in need of advice so anymore post would be apreciated.

It's a good list. It's more or less the core I used for my 2,000 point DG force, but I have an opposite setup for the squads, with PFs and Plasma and PWs and melta.

If you wanted to make it a bit more competitive, I would suggest dropping the termies and adding 2 more Oblits and get PFs for the 2 squads with PWs. Drop the icon and you could upgrade another squad to plasmaguns for 1,500 points exactly.

I'm pressed you've managed to squeeze 5 PM squads in at 1,500. It's making my 4 squads at 2,000 look a bit light on troops. I'm may have to go tinker with my list and see if I can fit in a fifth. Damn you!

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

lol i like the melta and the PF with the melta gives it a full anti-tank and powerweapon and PW is more anti-infantry.

Updated list tell me what you think.

Tactics: good deployment and well place objectives will hopefully have my oponent coming for me, squads advance, plasma stay back on objectives, obliterators provide long range support, DP and termies stay in reserve. When plague marines are close enough, personal icons summon them down, shoot tanks close enough and HQ'S, next turn they rip apart thing in CC.

you need more obliterators. you wont have any serious anti-tank until turn 3 at the earliest. that wont to against mech armies. your terminators dont really do anything so i would drop them for oblits. you could squeeze in 3 is you dropped the terminators and swapped the plasma for meltas on one squad of pms.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

i know you think obliterators are amazing, but there not THAT amazing. The terminators are bodyguards for demon prince for when he deepstrikes with him, a demon prince on his own can get trapped in a large mob of orks etc but a demon prince and 6 termies wont also if im in serious need of taking out some tanks il deepstrike the termies and DP in without the icon.

I'd replace one PM squad by another Termie squad. Four scoring units should suffice.
The next step should be playtesting...

IMO it's pretty good. But. This is the changes I would make:

- Chainfist/Heavy Flamer on Termi
- Take out 1 Oblit, and on that last unit of PMs add a Champ w/fist and perhaps swap meltas for plasmas?

Otherwise I like it.

i took out 4 termies to add that 5th plague marines squad back in,IMO its what made up for the lack of rhino's.

please comment and give advice and i might swap out termies for 13 lesser demons, does anyone think this is fun and competive? i thinks its competive(think) looks pretty fun but having just plague marines seem boring.
