Do you guys think Zerkers are more effective rushing across the board in a rhino or footslogging it across the board using run? I haven't played any 5th edition games yet so I'm still getting used to the new rules, any advise would be great!

In my experience, the Berkserker Rhino is there to soak up some fire for the Zerkers before it dies on the enemy's first turn. However, I could see it being very useful if it ever survived.

Also, as Stelek points out in his CSM article, Zerkers & Land Raider own face.

Rhinos--as long as you have at least three advancing, preferably more like 5+.

They will always soak up at least one volley, decreasing the amount of firepower your zerkers have to endure. And there's no real downside. If the rhino is destroyed, your casualties are statistically insignificant (a fully loaded rhino loses about one or two guys). After the rhino goes, the passengers don't take any more casualties than they would if they were running in the open anyway, and they don't suffer any slowing of their next-turn assault.

The cost of one rhino is only about 1.5 that of an additional berzerker, so compared with running it's like an upgrade that guarantees you 6" extra movement (plus a little over 2" for the disembark) and nerfs at least the first volley of fire that you take. Sounds worth a berzerker and a half to me.

The one caveat I'd make is in KP missions, it's better not to have rhinos.

FI has the right of it. Rhinos whenever possible for any CSM. They own.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Remember, you can even take rhinos for squads that number over ten men for CSM's!

Rhinos provide protection when the Berzerkers advance in or behind the tanks. Rhinos are more resilient in the new ed.
