(surprise)

I'll quickly take this chance to say hi to everyone at Dakka (especially the oldies). I was quite upset when Dakka was going through all the site moving and it seemed to disappear for a little while (about a few weeks I'm guessing as it didn't show up on any google searches)
I found a Dakka page the other day on google and was shocked! It was such a nice surprise to find out that Dakka had been continuing all this time!

Back on topic, being out of the loop, I'm just curious as with the new SM codex, if there are any new good viable combinations which can be put together. At my (old) local store, we pretty much only have a 4x4 table (48 inch square table) with a 12" deployment along the edge. If we were to have no objectives, just a regular 6 turn kill-as-much-as-possible, what would be a strong loadout for a White Scars list? With the current happenings in my life I doubt I'll get back into actually playing, but one can indulge so I'd like to get a few tips.

Is a White Scars army even suitable? What kind of army do you think would be unstoppable in say a 1500 point game on a 4x4 table? I'm thinking Godzilla Nids?

I thought Dakka had died! All those merories gone due to all that shifty website moving business. So for 4 years I had to live without these forums.

You can imagine the look on my face when I found Dakka again on a google search the other day!

1)Is a White Scars army even suitable?
Yes. Very much so. They are fast, hard, tough, and cheap for the points. You can get a 8 man bike squad with a attached Attack Bike for 255. Then you upgrade to a PF and meltas and your at about 300. A tough hard unit that can flank when you use khan. Take at least two units like this in your army.
Also take a command squad with can and take as many power weapons as you can in the squad. Throw in a few storm shields for taste and BAM. You have a T5 jump infintry that have FNP, Furious Charge, Hit and Run, Flanking, and 4 PW attacks each on the charge. Throw in a few of those 3+ storm shield inv saves and they are about as tough as a Jetseer Council. This is my favorite part of a white scars army. Add a naked chaplin on bike for some rerollable attacks on the charge and nothing will survive there charge, and if they do you hit and run and charge again.
The command squad is about 300+ points depending on toys and khan is 200ish points so that is 500 points. Add in the two bike squads, and that is 1100 points. Then just get speeders and attack bikes to fill out your list.
Tactics would be to keep everything in reserve and flank or deep strike everything. Combat squad the troops if needed for 4 troops choices.
I love the new white scars army list! I will be picking up about 3 of those ravenwing boxes to get my army started. I just love how fast and hard this list is. Very fun to play and its cool to have your own little bike gang. I think i am going to do mine as hells angels or something. Everyone will be rocking leather badges, chains, and maltof cocktails.
Good luck with your army and you should defenetly start playin, with this army every game is a blast even if you lose.

I'm not sure how you can get T5 in a command squad? I wasn't aware that you could give bikes to cammand squads and be able to give those bikers both storm shields and power swords? Don't they always need at least one hand to control the bike?

Also, would flanking be necessary for a 4x4? I would lose a turn but if I deploy 12" up there's only a maximum gap of 36 inches from my unit first turn. I love up and they're already in range of TL bolters

Bike's don't require a hand to drive. It's been that way since 4th edition. And for a fixed rate you can give your command squad bikes. Hope that helps
