So hod does this work in 5th ed?

You can't allocate wounds against the Tyrant just the squad, so do all the attacks against the squad count as -1 WS?

I assume you mean a Hive Tyrant with Tyrant Guard.

Tyrant guard and the Hive Tyrant are WS5 so this only really matters in the case of attackers who are WS6 or WS3 with an initiative of more than 5.

In the case of WS3 models they're generally going to be attacked by the HT before getting a chance to strike and therefore will be at -1 WS as a result of being attacked by a creature with miasma. A WS5 model at I5 will strike simultaneous with the HT and, again, will have its WS reduced because it was attacked by the miasma.

But in the case of a WS6 I6 model I'd say it would strike at its full WS because it does not fit the criteria for getting hit with the toxic Miasma. It has not been attacked by a creature with TM and it directs its attacks against a unit that includes the HT but not necessarily the HT itself since wounds are allocated after rolling to hit and wound.

Does that make sense?

If one model or more with toxic miasma are engaged then the oppponent is -1 WS.
By attacking a unit you attack every single engaged model in that unit.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...
