I plan to run a triple Mon demon prince list. The thing I keep going back and forth on is the demonic flight upgrade. I mean its 60 points! I use to think it was a must have for mobility, but now I am not quite sure. for a combined value of 180 points, I could take an entire troops selection for this army. So I am still wondering, is it worth to take demonic flight?

No. Not even close to worth it. If you want fighting Princes just drop close and run. If you want shooting princes just drop far away and shoot. Those extra 180 points could be a pair of Heralds on chariots, or 4 Blood Crushers, don't waste them on move you don't need.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

CSM Daemon Prince: Wings mandatory
DoC Daemon Prince: Wings expensive & superfluous.

Agreed. Three DPs deployed close to the enemy front ranks are scary and it doesn't really matter if they reach cc. Target saturation.

Put wings on one so you can make it look cool and turn it into a fire magnate to distract from your others.

IMO they're a must in Nurgle lists.

1 with wings works well, but 3 are just wasting points.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

This is something that I have gone back and forth on myself. I plan on running a MC heavy army with Scarbrand, BT, and 3 Nurgle DPs. I think because the HQ section is mobile enough, that I can do without winging all of my DPs (maybe 1). My issue comes with catching vehicles if I don't give them wings. I guess if the vehicles are moving fast enough to get away from running DPs and 2 flying/fleeting models on the other flank, then they won't be firing much anyway.

Wings also lets Princes drop out of rapid-fire range, and thus potentially survive a little better. I typically run my princes with Iron Hide and Wings, nothing else, at 170. Not as effective as my 175/155 CSM princes, but usually enough.
