Alright, so I've seen my fair share of gaming plants, and I've noticed that the plants seem to be divided up into basically 2 groups
1) Trees
2) Bushes
This list leaves a lot to be desired, especially if your ideal design requires plants. But neither of the two listed above will satisfy.
So I was wondering, what other kinds of plants have you guys made? I'm aiming for a reed look to put alongside some rivers that I'm in the process of making, but the only thing I can think of is really thin strands of string, then dipped in sealant to add structure.
But that is awful time consuming, and I'm not sure as to the quality of the product.
Any ideas?

... I feel stupid.
Thats a great idea and everything, but what if I want more substantial plants?
And also, Do NOT try the string with resin idea... it doesn't work.

Aquarium plants maybe? With Christmas coming up soonish, you could also have a look at the fake plant decorations that you find everywhere around that time.
Not really sure what else to suggest, since I'm not really sure what kind of plants you're looking for.

Woodland scenics makes the best. They have 12 packs for around $12 where I live, come posable, and with a seperate detachable base in order to make area terrain woods. Better than GW trees I feel. If i ever get around to finishing the one I mounted on foambaord I'll post some pictures in my CoD thread.

I've seen some fake aquarium plants (the floaty vine kind) wrapped up into ruins and bits of building to represent an overgrown jungle or lost city.

Take a large fake leaf from a larger plant. Cut out some smaller leaf shapes with stalks. Bind stalks together. Same with plastic stamens (the bits that stick out from the middle of some plants).
