Just wondering if anyone has had a go at building Helms Deep? any success stories?

The UK GW website had an article about a Helmsdeep that they built.

um i built one about 5 years ago its really not to hard to do try going to lastalliance.com

Yeaah, my local tore has one. They built it a few years ago, and although it still looks awesome, it oculd do with a bit o' TLC.

Thanks for the response. I've had a look on GW site, i can't see it. Probably because the site has changed, but i have found "how to build helms deep" in the Two Towers book. Me and a friend have rohan and isengard forces, and i really like the idea of defending castle walls. I like those rules for loosing your footing and falling down stairs if you're pushed back in combat. We'll build it this week

Ah, sorry i completely forgot i made this post. The news is i finished my deeping wall and the ramp. I didn't take pics as i was building it , but i do have finished pics. The gate and those two curved walls either side are the ones GW used to sell. I used the method at the back of the Two Towers book for building the walls. I changed the ramp size, they have a small sized ramp, i wanted to do a bigger version

That last picture is awesome. I played a Helm's Deep scenario at a convention like 5 years ago and it is still in my Top 5 gaming memories of all time.

Besides there being a butt load of minis on the table (that is awesome in itself) there was so many classic moments in that game. Legalos killing double digit orcs, the lone ladder on the wall that had at least half of both armies contesting it, and Gimli and Aragorn jumping into the Uruk-hai army and holding their own. Just like the movie. It was so sweet and a game that I hope to repeat myself sometime.

WoW wicked cool. With the new plastics come out this year the thought has occured to me to try and build helms deep myself. Now if anyone has built Minas Tirth that would be comething to see

Nice job, I am actually thinking of making one, it would be great to replay the battle of helms deep.

Thats just an epic wall, only problem is I guess is that the scale has to be toned down.

Even so, I'd be abit suspicious if a Isenguard Troll is just looming over the walls
