I went in the local torney the other day. Did well on the table top (Top 5 for Battle Points) but this list was marked as EXTREAMLY CHEESY and OVERPOWERED.

It got the lowest army composition score by the judges, but 3 players voted it as a well designed list. What are your views?

Well, adjust your troop units: 2x 10 Horrors and 1x 10 Plague Bearers should be enough to improve composition score.

It seems awfully repetitive but not terribly cheesy. Your Grinders have the wrong weapon upgrade. Your troops have no durability. You put too many upgrades into the Herald. Screamers are terrible in my opinion.
Honestly this army is just not that frightening.

The screamers i would end up doing 2 squads of 4 rather then the 3 squads of 3, they did their job against enemy armor. The soul grinders were given the strength 10 shot for monoliths and land raiders (there were a few of these) in case i misshaped or the screamers were killed off a bit early

12 min. size squads, I'm not surprised they were upset
Though I am surprised you didn't get rocked in the kill point missions (I think this is specifically why GW added in the kill point missions, to prevent min squad cheese).
You just put as many bolts and breaths in the list you possibly could, it looks like.

Looks like fun, I would prlly cheapen the Herald, play another instead of the scribes and run 2x8 screamers, then get more horrors and drop some/all the bolts from them. Possibly swapping out the profile(s) on the SG
Well if this list is cheese, it's more like kraft in that it's not aged and they just didn't know what it really was. seriously any halfway decent assault army should chew you up.
I am working on massing horrors to run a mono Tzeentch list too. I would prlly run with Fateweaver for his re-rolls. and additional shooting
It does make for fun deepstriking since you get to drop in and shoot while they are all deployed.

i got a major loss in the kill point mission against DE raider spam. It didn't help that i had 4 mishaps (Herald and horror squad, Screamer Squad, Horror Squad and a Flamer squad) rolling 1s and giving 5 kill points, which is what did the damage.

Every Squad had its job. After the torney i questioned the judges - and was told my list was cheesy cause of the 3 soul grinders and the changeling, yet they never watched the list. Changeling and his squad normally sat on a DZ objective with The Blue Scribes sitting near buy to pavane troops out of my DZ (+1 Bonus Points for No enemy units in your DZ) and The soul Grinders spent as much time in CC as they did shooting
HQ - Support Rolls
Elites - Anti MEQ
Troops - Anti Hoard and additional Anti MEQ/Armor
Fast Attack - Anti Armor
Heavy Support - Some CC ability and Additional anti MEQ/Armor
i knew of 4 Marine armys, 1 necron, 3 Ork, and 2 tank heavy guard. Plus as i was short of cash i made use of models i had to try to make a somewhat competitive list.

The tournament organizers were ridiculous if they considered that cheesy and/or overpowered.

Yeh, i know. 3 of 5 players said it was a well balanced and nicely designed army, i did get a major loss with a horrid deep strikes on first turn losing 2 squads and a soul grinder being placed in terrain and getting immobilized :(

This list is no way OP IMO...
Must be your circles.. I play against some very good strategists. I can see now a Shooty Ork Army chewing this list up.
Problems with troops.. light fire can take out 5 horrors with ease.
SGs with tongue.. For some reason rolling one dice turns up a 1~3 too often. More so that not for sure..
Flamers are AWSOME maybe too awsome.. a well spaced army with break them up though.. They will get focused fire early.. due to their shock attack nature.
My 2 Cents..

Well this has to be one of the shootest list Ihave seen for daemons. I don't see how it could be thought of as cheese your just giving up all HTH for fire power the same way other army's give up units for tanks. Still this is about as fragile as you can get. If you can shot this glass cannon more then once though you should win.
