I totally disagree with this, even though i have a wood elf army

There's a magic item for wood elves called moonstone of the hidden ways. It says.... "if the character and any unit they have joined is wholly within a wood at the end of the Move phase, the character and unit may be removed from the table, and replaced anywhere that is also wholly within a wood, facing in any direction and in any formation."

Seems fairly straight forward. However, i was chatting to a games designer at GW HQ and he told me because it says THE MOVE PHASE it implies ANY move phase. Which means you are able to move your unit in your opponents move phase.

Who was that?

I would note that it says "the" move phase and not "any" move phase. I know I'm on shaky ground here, but I would read that as the move phase [that actually applies to you].

Seems like kind of a stretch otherwise? I know... this is a pretty weak argument.

This has been FAQed to state it only works in the controlling wood elf player's movement phase.

The official Wood Elf FAQ states that it can only be used at the end of the WE player's movement phase.

Note that this is a change from the first version of the FAQ- when they initially released it, the FAQ actually sanctioned using it in your opponent's movement phase. Unusually, GW realized their error very quickly, and released a whole new version of the FAQ within a week, which was identical in every regard except for reversing that one broken ruling.
