Oh, here and there.

What kind of clay, besides greenstuff, is good for scratch building organic models? Greenstuff is too expensive, so are there any alternatives available maybe? Or are there tutorials and the like? I've never sculpted a model so I need all the tips I can get.

Thanks for looking and any help you can give. It is appreciated.

I've used sculpy to good effect. It doesn't hold detail as easily as something like GS or other epoxies though, as it never hardens on you. You have to bake it to harden it.

Milliput is about $6-7 for a 4oz tube IIRC.

You can go with Magic Sculpt for $30ish for 5lb (60 oz.)

GS isn't any more expensive than other stuff in my experience, buy it from somewhere other than GW. I got 24 inch of greenstuff in a roll off ebay delievered for about 5quid which is about 10 US Dollars

Also, Fimo is good for practicing with, Very Cheap, doesn't set until you bake it. Wouldn't use it for finished models though.

Say it now and say it right.

Don't all the "bake to harden" materials shrink when you bake them?

I don't think super-sculpey does. It's excellent stuff, it's just that you have to make pieces you can bake and then glue on, rather than just pressing it on and then adjusting it like GS. I'd recommend it though.

Cap'n Gordino's instant grammar guide:
"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."
