Now my question is based soley upon which storm shield rules i use as the rest hasn't changed......

In the codex it states to use the full entry from codex space marines for equipment written in italics but that there is a quick summary in the back. Now the quick summary is obviously different from the space marine codex entry. So do I a)use the space marine codex entry as stated or b) stick to the sw codex quick note?

That's pretty much it. The space wolves officially get all the new space marine pricing except on rhinos and razorbacks since it's in their FAQ but obviously not the new weapons rule for the Cyclone missile launcher. So pretty much which storm shield do i use? Since the codex tells me to use the SM Codex i'm heavily leaning toward the new Storm Shield.

I donno. I personally think your stuck with the sucky version of it. Yes it tells you two different places, but traditionally when given the option of two different things with no clear answer you take the less powerful of the two. That and the trend to not let cross codex wargear become the norm unless specifically noted.

Precident for the armory/summary of a book being incorrect can be easily found as recently as the Ork book. When in doubt, you do NOT go off the armory but rather the listed rules under unit entry and army rules.

So your saying that since it states in the rules to use the SM Codex version of italicized items that i would indeed use the SM codex instead of the summary at the back?

The thing is it's not a complete rule in the summary. For instance if i'm stuck with the crappier version it doesn't say in the SW codex that i lose the extra attack for using (i.e. not a ccw) it so i would infact be able to take it and get the +1 Attack if i used the brief description in the summary.

Both sides have a perk, i'm just curious as to which would be the more accepted side.

If the rule available in the wolves dex is incomplete and is a summary, then the reference to codex: space marines would be the correct one, obviously neither of them is really correct though.
